Yeah I see them being used fairly often during lunch/dinner rushes. McDonald's here uses theirs a lot but it's because they are the closest fast food place to the freeway and I swear they do more business than all the other places on the street put together.

Only place around here with a double drive thru is McD. I don't think I've seen any place else with them.

Burger King here recently did a total renovation of their building. They now also have the double drive through thing.

Burger King is heaven.
People always give it shit about thinking flame-broiled is some fake thing, but believe me they have a grill inside. It has a large conveyor belt so they can't fuck it up.

I checked my online credit card statement. Total was $13.13 for the burger, fries, and drink. The burger was pretty substantial in size. Absolutely worth it for me.

My roommate that works at McD's says (at least at the two locations he's worked at) that the outside lane is better to order from. It's the guy filling drinks and running food and the inside lane is the cashier taking money. So the outside lane generally runs faster and has less chance at mistakes while ordering since the guy that took your order is bagging it and is also less distracted. YMMV at locations and what not. It was 2 different franchises in different suburbs, though.
