I had the sriracha quesarito yesterday. It is second only to the cheesy gordita crunch as the best fast food item ever.
From recommendations of this thread, on the original line of quesarito's, I replaced the rice with beans, and it was amazing. Is it recommended to do the same with the sriracha one?

and I'm with most in this thread, there are a few things that I could eat every single day and never get sick of. Joeboo, either in this thread, or the other food thread, hit us up with that chicken salad recipe. Just bought one of those chickens on Saturday!

I always eat exactly the same thing when I go to fast food restaurants. I can relate to Joeboo. I used to go like 7 times a week (literally like once a day) about 10 years ago. Now I go twice a month.

There are also some auxiliary benefits of eating there. Namely the staff is actually nice and courteous instead of acting like they're doing you a huge favor. The place is clean and well maintained even during very busy times. I'm willing to pay a buck extra for that.

With that said I get all that same stuff at Raising Cane's and the chicken fingers there are better so I rarely go to Fil-A.

I've probably said this here before, but I just don't see the attraction. It's a chicken sandwich. Every fast food place has one on the menu. I guess I'm just more of a burger guy.

Yes, staff is courteous but it's fast food, just make it quick and right and I don't really care if you act like you are brain dead. And they need to cut the shit and put the drink fountains where I can refill it myself.

The best thing about chic-fil-a is the waffle fries. The chicken is really just OK, and unless you get the spicy version it is pretty bland as well.

Yeah, courteousness is at the bottom of the list for things I care about in fast food. I mean I appreciate when someone is polite, but I don't give a shit as long as the order is correct and the food is good.

I have never been to a fast food restaurant where the staff was outright rude. I have had that happen, but only in sit down restaurants.

Well waiters and waitresses actually do think they're doing God's work and some huge favor by writing down your order and bringing it to you. For whatever reason that profession has this martyr complex. In reality they make astonishingly good money for having zero actual skills and just have to deal with asshole customers -- which everyone in a customer facing job has to deal with anyways.

You have to have one cheat meal a week. Just one.
You misspelled seven. It might be my metabolism talking, but I can't imagine eating tasteless garbage for 20 meals out of a week... isn't it possible to just do some green tea and exercise, etc to jump start the metabolism and live an enjoyable life in regards to food?

If you workout regularly, you can eat pretty bad all the time and maintain. However, he clearly said he's dieting. There's a difference between actively trying to lose weight and then your normal maintaining.

I always laugh when people think eating healthy means eating tasteless food.
Basically this. I can eat healthy three meals a day and not feel like I'm missing out. That being said, I agree that a cheat meal a week is probably not a bad idea. Also, I went 6 months without caffeine two years ago, and while it's doable I couldn't imagine why I would want to again.

This is my biggest beef with Chick-fil-a. Why the fuck do they protect the soda fountains like it's some super expensive, precious liquid? Put that shit out on the floor so I can drink to my heart's content without having to keep bugging someone for a refill. I can understand if it's in a mall food court, but for the stand alone restaurants there is no reason not to have customer-facing soda fountains.

Yes and no - I feel that the only way to not have to sit there contemplating food with more of my day than I care to - is to eat tasteless crap.

Perhaps I should've gone for the more lengthy explanation of "not being able to just follow your cravings" - which sure, some cravings are healthy, but it seems like a stupid burden to me to have my brain saying "Let's do steak tonight" and have to override it with a quinoa salad.

Do steak, limit portions. In todays world, it's silly to think that with all that we have access too, and most of it being "unhealthy", that your brain is going to crave only healthy stuff. Just as you pointed out, it's not going for the quinoa salad. But also part of being healthier, through diet and excercise, or whatever, is retraining ourselves. I'm addicted to food, and admit that, and it's tough as balls to try and undo 30 years of bad, to still feel satisfied, but it is possible.

But if you want to be lazy, not meal plan, go impromptu, then yes, the frozen tasteless shit is probably what you will end up with.
