Vaclav. You have a habit of hating on food without ever trying it.
I really am not that way, if I come across like it. I try new things almost constantly. My only consistent turnoff are merging foods for no good reason while they have varying textures - beyond that I'll try almost anything as long as it doesn't have visible mushrooms (no clue why, I get sick when I eat mushrooms - but like cream of mushroom soup as a sauce component is NP, I'm sure it's probably psychological) - and if their textures become pretty much the same, that's fine too. [i.e. in a fajita or stew stuff really isn't distinct anymore]
Seriously, if I sit down at a place and there's a menu of 25 things and I've tried 24 things on there at some point, I'll almost always go for #25. And most of my favorite things I've had in life, I've had a single time. [i.e. Whole Red Snapper deep-fried at some place in NYC is probably my favorite meal I've had in my life]
TCP falls under the "everything merged together with varying textures" issue of why I never wanted to bother trying it. (Same for Tarrant's Fridays not appealing to me)
Heck, if I want a sub and some veggies, I'll get the Sub undressed and eat the salad on the side. I just like being able to enjoy components individually. Shrug. It doesn't seem like a terrible rare phenomena though.
To me I want every bite to be predictable. "I'm getting a bite that tastes like X and has texture like X" not spinning a roulette wheel of extra crunch, saltiness, sourness, etc. I'd rather just go to the texture/taste that appeals that moment.
[Similarly, when I go to a buffet or something, I don't even let my items touch - I'll probably get every item on the buffet if we're there long enough - but I'll make a million plates of 3-4 items to do so instead of having one item pollute another]
