New York is probably like the same distance from you as the west coast of FL is for me, right? Everything is so cramped up there in the NE.

I just did a new Google search and apparently there is one up Ft. Pierce, but that's still over a 100 miles north of me. Seems like they're slowly creeping toward Ft. Lauderdale/Miami.

The trick for doing distance fast food is to find a bunch of fast food places located in that area that you don't have in your region. That way you don't do the 1.5 hour drive for a single burger, but instead you make a day of it and try all sorts of great stuff to eat.

My hometown had Hardees throughout my childhood but it closed and now the closest one is 200 miles away. They had excellent bbq sauce.

Hardee's has a new $5 combo out. It's their double cheeseburger add one thousand island dressing.
That's a cheaper sandwich. I'm not sure it's as much savings as their previous promos.
I'm still tempted to try.

(Standard double cheeseburger is 4.5/10)
You mean the cali classic or something else? If same, then old news. I raced about them a few months ago. Stupid combo but sandwich only is like 1.80 or 2.40. great value solo

The only Hardees near me are in freeway oasis stops and they suck. I thought that was what all Hardees were like, but I have been corrected. I'll have to find a real one.

In the old days it wasn't the same. They merged in '97. Either way though, there is no Carl's Jr. here either.

This was like Sonic in Chicago. We got the commercials but the closest one was 150 miles away for the longest time.

Oh! I remember that. I asked about the Cali and they sounded intrigued but didn't have it. Seems like my area is on delay.

I've been asking around. out of the 4 burger kings, 0 ever got Mac n' Cheetos.

What do they call your $5 combo burger? Looking at the website appears it should be the cali classic but maybe at a hardee's different name? It has to be. Double cheese with thousand island and grilled onion bits.

I did that a few years ago with a buddy of mine on a roadtrip. We were driving from Kansas City to New Orleans, and hit all the fast food places that KC doesn't have(at that time)

Ate an early lunch at White Castle in St Louis, then had a 2nd lunch/early dinner at JAck In the Box in Memphis, and then hit up Whataburger for a late dinner once we got to Jackson MS.

The stench in that car was a fate worse than death after those 3 meals and 2 dudes stuck in a sealed vehicle together. It was also raining most of the way so we couldn't roll the windows down too easily, but I still did it and put up with the wet arm/leg to relieve the trapped rotten ass smell.

Horrible idea. Would not recommend.
