SnS's chili is really fucking good. I agree it's the best of any chain.

Steak N Shake started in my town (Indy) and is basically notorious for where you go when you're black out drunk and really hungry at 4am as they're open 24/7. In my late teens especially I got to see some real magical shit go down there.

I've honestly never had their chili, but their shakes are really good. The more frou frou the better. The Banana Split shake is one of my favorites, but the seasonal Smores one is above all. It has fucking S'mores cereal chunks blended in. It's great.

They have shoestring fries so make sure to get cheese sauce for them.

I do the seasoning salts when I get the fries - often the salt and vinegar or whatever one - that shit's awesome. And yea, heard great things about the shakes - with how touchy my stomach is on dairy at times though, I've avoided them - they look awesome and the wife loves them though.

Me and a coworker just asked last week why Indy has so many steak n shakes. Guess that makes sense

Panera Bread used to have some really good steak chili with cornbread crumbles. I went last year and they told me they didn't have it anymore, so I'm not sure if it's only a seasonal thing or what. If you happen to see it, I highly recommend it.

Yeah it looks like not too great but just give it a shot. I think its great.
Got the chili as a side today - it was OK... doesn't look like the pictured one though, more like a Wendy's chili (slightly better than Wendy's though - Quizno's still has the throne for those types of chili IMO), got a feeling the "Chili 3-Way/5-Way" etc are different though.

Hm that is odd. S&S chili shouldn't be anything like Wendy's chili really.
Are you including the "Bowl of Chili" side option in that experience, because that's how I ordered it. Not as a condiment as part of something else. But yea, looked nothing like the cans they sell there (and elsewhere).

Lay's "Do Us A Flavor" event is back, if you haven't seen the TV commercials yet. I'm excited to see what new flavors come out of it this year. This is beginning to become the most exciting part of the year for me.Lay's 'Do Us A Flavor' Tastes of America Contest | Submit Your Idea Vote for a Winner

My suggestion, with flavors of Horseradish, Butter, and Bread:

I'd say either McRib season or Burger King BOGO coupon season (February!!!!) are the best ones for me.
