44 years old and I have never ate ramen or 95% of popular oriental foods for that matter.

BK Chicken Fries are fucking great. One sauce with 9 pieces though? That's not a McCheese Approved? ratio.

What kind of toddler stomach pleb orders a 9 piece
I just asked for large and it comes with 9 pieces. I also got a large fries and 2 original chicken sandwiches. If you want to have a bro chow down competition, I'll fucking ice you. Fucking noodlenerd.

Maybe I had bad ones, but the chicken fries were fucking terrible. Tasted like cardboard sprinkled with some expired ass seasoning

It quite literally infuriates me how they ration dipping sauces like we're living in WWII-era Stalingrad. I always ask for more by default now, because they never, ever give enough dipping sauce.

So do you just eat at chain restaurants and fast food? i've had to deal with a few co-workers like this, if they wanted to go out and eat w/ us, they'd have to learn to explore some kind of different culinary wonder, other than 5x at Arbys.

I used to have a coworker that drove me fucking nuts when we went on work travel together because I always wanted to find some cool local place and he always acted like if there's an Outback Steakhouse or an Applebee's available why would you go anywhere else? We ate at the god damn Outback in Kansas City for fuck's sake. That town is nothing but restaurants that serve meat better than Outback but that's where we went.

So, the ramen adventure begins!

We start with Sumire, the most famous Sapporo miso ramen in Japan. It has a thin layer of oil on top so that every drop stays hot even in the bitter northern Japan nights.

Next we moved onto a bowl of much lighter Awari Tonkotsu ramen, made by boiling pork bones for at least 2 days.

We finished with a bowl of Shouyu ramen. Famous for the owner breeding his own chickens that he uses in the broth, which is packed with umami flavour. Definitely the best ramen soup I have ever tasted.

Finally, I rounded up the new sodas of the season to have a tasting. All were pretty good. Lychee was especially interesting.

I would not let that stand. Ever. Thankfully, all my co-workers are also a bunch of foodies.

Those ramen pics are great. I really want to go to Japan and try the ramen there. I've been to many of the renowned places here in the States and everyone who's been to Japan says it doesn't even compare. Which blows my mind because Ippudo in NYC is outta this world.

Ippudo here is pretty damn fantastic. It's Hakata style ramen similar to my second picture above, but heavier. When I go back to Australia, I'll try it there, and compare.

A1 Mozzarella Bacon BurgeratBurger Kingwas a well-balanced treat. 6/10

They had some other new-to-me sandwiches I wanted to try, but I'm slowing it down on the eating out to save some money for a trip in October.

Went to Red Robin last night. It gave me the fortitude to go to Best Buy and get pricematched 60% off my GTX 980.

I'm pretty satisfied. They even had the free desserts thing going on.

Shin-Sen-Gumi was the best Ramen place I've ever been, it was while visiting LA and is Hakata style. I seriously consider quitting my job and opening a ramen place here in town. It'd make about negative $1M in Arkansas but I'd love losing every penny. Do it sort of as a Ramen-cade with some video games, host a few small eSports events. Something for the kids.
