Yea, let's end this shitty real food talk in the fast food thread with a statement of pure fact: Jack in the Box tacos are better than any other fast food basic tacos. They are also cheaper. It is known.
I prefer JB's taco's to Taco Bells. I really dislike the shells at Taco Bell. And like you said... 2/$1... it's taco time.

Health concerns why?

It's definitely chicken as I buy it and make it.
It's ~20% skin if you grind whole chickens. Or any cheaper cut of chicken meat.

and...

Shits only good for like a day in the fridge after you make it. Heebygeebies brodle... Heebygeebies

** this is also one of the major reasons poultry companies don't sell ground chicken regularly **

Tell your wife to go to costco and get a $4 whole roasted chicken when she wants to make Tacos. You'd be hard pressed to beat Costco's roasted chicken value with other methods.

We eat turkey tacos all the time, much more than beef. It requires a different spice mixture though and not just a taco seasoning packet.

Ground turkey has federal fat content limits that are much more strict than ground chicken.

I find that ground turkey requires a bit of a fat addition in order to sauce it up well enough for tacos.

The chart shows cooked poultry at 3-4 days.

I stopped arguing with her a long time ago. She used to try to make me eat it and finally I just said "I literally cannot eat this shit"

Those storage time things are not accurate, anyway. Even Alton Brown was talking about that, and he is paranoid about cross contamination and stuff, and he was saying that cooked food can last weeks in the fridge and be perfectly safe, even if the consistency changes a little.

The other night I wanted to eat potato chips. All I had was some Lays Wavy chips, that shit is NOT Ruffles. I decided the solution to those bland giant chips was to heat up some left over KFC gravy and use it as a dip(didn't have any real dip).

It was not very tasty.

Yup, I use ground turkey for tacos more than I do beef. This thread is all over the place, by the way.

I'm more concerned with the uncooked storage time, I doubt many people grind up chickens and immediately cook with all of it. That would be a waste of time, right?

Ground poultry is a decent topic in this thread if we get on the Chicken Nugget wagon with it.

Is wendy's still god tier for nuggets?

Going around on this again? haha. Some prefer the breading for Wendy's nuggets. I much more prefer the batter used with McDonalds nuggets.

Ground Turkey needs to be explained to a DREAMER because that is GD near a vegetable where I come from.

Lays Wavy Chips are pretty bad. Despite being thicker than normal chips, I still feel like they're too fragile to properly scoop into an adequately robust dip. If you hit a veggie, lump of meat, or other obstacle in the dip the chip often will just crumble under the force of the blow or won't support the weight as you bring it up. Ruffles is where it's at, those things are like little potato dump trucks.

We tried the turkey + spices and it always felt a bit bland to me. Now we do 50% turkey 50% chorizo (maybe more like 70/30 ... idk I don't cook it) and it is much, much better.
