My worst vice is Chex Mix. I once bought one of those HUGE bags at Costco, they're bigger than family size, they're roughly the size of a paper grocery bag. Ate the WHOLE thing during a Saturday of watching college football(along with a 12 pack of beer) I think I figured it up and it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 9000 calories in just chex alone. I was so goddamned hungover the next day between the beer dehydrating me and all the salt from the chex mix.

I also can't be trusted around Ro-Tel, I'll put down an entire bowl of rotel(1 block of velveeta + 2 cans of ro-tel) + 2 large bags of Tostitos scoops during an all-day football watching marathon. That's also not so good for you

I went to our Global Foods market over the weekend, and while I was there getting the necessities (extra hot Indian chili), I also picked up a bag of Indian snacks.

It's Janaki's Spicy Boondi, and damn is it good. The bag reads 'Spiced Chickpea Flour Beads with Cashews', but while I haven't seen many cashews, it does have quite a few spanish peanuts in it, and it is spicy goodness. Also, very fresh, as it's made near Chicago.

What's on that pizza besides the sour cream?
Thinly slices potatoes, usually a cream sauce, bacon piecs and green onion. Usually the sour cream is just doloped on top. Sooo good

Oh and a cheddar mozzerellabmix of cheese on top. The ones I have had were more cheddery

That, except basically mashed potatoes not "thinly sliced". Because pierogies aren't filled with thinly sliced potatoes. Psycho.

Crust, mashed taters, the cheddar/pizza cheese mix, bacon bits(lots on this one), onion. Not sure what secret herbs or spices etc they use. Side of sour cream. Dip or spread it.

So fucking good. Just faced the last 3 pieces. I have to think about it or it's something I'd absolutely eat to the point of hurting myself.Veryheavy for pizza.

After posting about my chip weakness I bought a huge bag of salt & vinegar chips last night. This is why I cannot have nice things.

Ro-Tel and Velveeta is a good pigout food.
For you Rotel lovers, try this on for size:

1 Brick Velveeta
2 Cans Rotel (any style)
1 Can Green Chilis
1 lb Turkey Meat
2 Packets Taco Seasoning

Make dip like normal, prepare turkey meat with one packet of taco seasoning, mix the two together and add second packet of taco seasoning.

You will not be disappointed.

Yes.... this thread is slowly converting into the cooking thread... slowly now..

Sous Vide Ro-Tel.. discuss

Single bowl packages you just pull out of the sous vide on demand.

They should be called the pretentious food thread and the unpretentious food thread. If this thread ever has a sous vide discussion then it is truly dead and we might as well just merge them.

My disdain for the elitist cooking thread is well documented. That said, when a recipe calls for "1 brick Velveeta," I'm not sure it can really be considered cooking. Or at the very least, not cooking of the pretentious variety.

Yeah, Ro-Tel and Velveeta isn't even remotely "cooking".

Sous vide Velveeta: Sous-Veeta.

What's up with all the sous vide references? I've never cooked anything that way. Sounds like a huge pain in the ass.

It's a running joke from the Cooking thread basically. It's become very popular in the last couple years(on a home-cook level) and people get really butthurt when you talk about it for some reason. So we keep talking about it.

I wanted to start a junk food thread but I guess we can just talk about it here. I am nodding the whole time wishing I could enjoy Rotel with Grim's wierd yet delicious looking pizza while stuffing Hapi Wasabi Peas by the handful down my gullet.

I'm not a fan of meat in my Ro-Tel. I just want pure, cheezy goodness(added jalapenos or other peppers is fine, however). Buddy of mine puts so much taco-seasoned ground beef in his Ro-Tel that it ends up looking more like a cheese-based chili than ro-tel dip. not that cheese-based chili wouldn't be great, but it isn't the same as ro-tel.

In no particular order my favorite bagged snack foods are:

Pizza/Nacho Combos
Andy Capp's Hot Fries
Cheddar Chex Mix
Snyder's of Hanover Jalapeno/buffalo/cheddar
