Top notch episode. But damn, the preview for the next episode on April 14th looks amazing. This show has turned out to be a welcomed surprise.

I'm confused. Didn't that reporter say that Harrison wells appeared out of nowhere when he investigated his background? Now we find out Harrison is legit and just got taken over by the guy from the future. What was the reporter talking about?

The writers get extra bonus points for making sure Trickster interacted with Barry's dad. Hamill really killed it. He's still my favorite Joker and you get hints of that delivery both in the original Flash from 90 and again here, but damn if I don't mind at all.

I remember the same thing, but it's possible the context of appearing out of nowhere is that he was just another nobody scientist and then all of the sudden he comes forward with these plans for a particle accelerator that are several years ahead of their time. I mean I would imagine construction didn't actually take the full fifteen years, but he had to come forward with his theories at some point to get funding, so I imagine his ideas were probably a good decade or more ahead of anything else at the time, which probably made him a bit of a celebrity as far as scientists go. I agree it's inconsistent.

Hamill did absolutely kill it though.

So here's a couple questions, that maybe I'm supposed to just handwave away.

Was Eobard Thawne a scientist before he replaced Wells? Did his weird little machine sap Wells' idea for the particle accelerator? Cause unless Thawne was some sort of physicist in his own time, I can't imagine him knowing enough about 500 year old particle accelerator technology to develop one from scratch. That's like dropping me 500 years in the past and expecting me to build the first trebuchet, except that example still doesn't translate well.

Also, didn't he say something about Wells creating the particle accelerator in 20 years? But it takes him 15, so does he turn Barry into the Flash 5 years sooner than he was supposed to? So Thawne is subtly fucking with timeline himself and using Gideon to make sure he doesn't overdo it.

He's got a 500 years in the future computer, I'm pretty sure he's got the plans to everything in there.
