according to the charlie guy i link sometimes, barry using the name sam was an easter egg for michael ironside's character from smallville, Gen. Sam Lane. also his daughter from smallville is the same chick who plays his daughter on flash.

what? Erica Durance isnt in the flash.

edit:
Oh, Lucy showed up in Smallville. I do not remember that.. the other daughter, Lois's Sister Lucy.

Peyton List played her, and yeah, Golden Glider/Lisa Snart here.

Ah that's funny.

If for whatever crazy reason they bring Darkseid into the Flash I hope Ironside voices him.

Re: Freezing the lazers:

Visible laser detection schemes rely on super heating thin columns of space over some short distance (2 meters) to create a security barrier that is more secure than traditional methods. Because they are heat based they can't just be tricked with mirrors or other simple devices. However, when they are subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations they can be disabled due to a large error margin reversing the polarity of their sensors. This is why Capt. Cold was able to bypass an otherwise impenetrable field.

So why were there remaining columns of ice? That's a well known effect caused by an increase in humidity in those columns due to the incredible heat in a small volume. Once the temperature of those spaces dropped to sub-zero temperatures the remaining water molecules had no choice but to reduce from a gaseous to solid form. This is an easily reproducible phenomena.

You know damn well Cisco got a chub when the gold chick said she was "Hit from behind" early in the episode.

Then we all got creeped out when we learned it was her father that hit her.

They are really ramping up for Legends this season. Wonder how much of the Firestorm universe we will get on that show.

Also where the hell was Jay Garrick during that whole thing, sleeping?

My guess this is the female version of Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi)

Only 3 episodes into the first season and still trying to figure out whether or not to watch this. Only started because I like the arrow, but don't know how much more I can take the cringe - worthy melodrama. Arrow was pretty bad at the end, but Flash opens with it. Does the writing get better or do you just have to accept it?

it keeps a lot of the cringe worthy stuff especially everything related to Iris and it takes some time until they get away from the villain-of-the-week themes but if you can live with that then keep watching, its certainly the best Superhero series out there and it builds up a really great villain over the course of the 1.season

haha some shady shit this episode.

"I didnt ask for their blood samples."

"we locked him up in our secret jail, until he decides to not tell anyone we gave him superpowers, and turned him into an energy vampire"

"I don't want my dad to know he might have a son, to spite you. I don't care my brother is going to lose his mom, and not know his dad."

Well, they didn't GIVE him powers. He had them already, they were just dormant. Their process did awaken them though.

And I can see why she wouldn't want her dad to know. She gave her reasons, it wasn't to spite her, it was to protect him. Which is funny because it's the same thing he did to her about her mother.
