Yeah, I mistakingly pushed to 55 at around 550AA to hopefully be able to kill VP. I was able to get Inny down and all but PD and Nexona. Kinda wished I had stayed at 50 and pushed to 1k before trying.

Not having the resist AA and 18/18 on CA/CS hurts and grinding at 55 slows down AA quite a bit in ChardokB/Nadox/Veksar. Hate is a little better on the "con" front, but with all the non-undead it really slows down my PAL/WAR/MNK.

Can clear everything except PD now. Pal, Shm, Mag with 700 AA. Mainly lacking damage now and it is a pita to keep pets up, which are a lot of my damage. Not sure how this will scale, but I fear the worst tbh.

I think SHM slow is going to be the sleeper standout for Velious. So much shit in the era is about long term sustainability and slow, HoTs, and DoTs help a lot there. The current era is all about blasting DPS, which is why you're seeing the 30s PD kills and such.

I'm hoping my build leans into that and curse cure for Luclin. Might have to swap out the WAR for Zerk as we go though for better white damage.

If you leash PD by running her pass the dragon statues then instantly pull again all her buffs will be gone, it's not much but it helps a little for pet survival since there is a druid DS on her.

Welp I'm 1k AAs in now, much faster with assassinates up to lvl 62 mobs in chardok b, but they just turned off the exp boost they mistakenly left on all week so who knows how fast it'll be. Still got like 300AAs that I want to get.

Velious in 11 days, looks like it will be 6 weeks until luclin after that
is this grinding at lvl50?

For people terrified at the amount of AA some folks are reporting, I am happy to report a late start to the server (like 10days ago) and just defeated the Kunark dragons with 400 AA and a very unoptimized build.

there is hope

No. I stopped at 31 in lguk for about 250AA then went straight to 60. Chardok B is light blue to yellow to me at 60.

I went from 16% AA per yellow with the exp buffs down to 9% per yellow. Seeing 3-6% per light blue-white. You'd get better results prior to 60 obviously with Dark reds but I've got a route down in chardok that is mindless and expedient

Anybody have a "general" undead route for PoHate? That's the only place that still has reds, but fighting the non-undead slows it down a lot.

ChardokB is better in that regard, but I clear the entire undead areas inside all the tunnels long before repops. I even started IDing into the other undead tunnel through the houses and get that down and I'm still waiting a solid 3-4 mins for repops. Plus, a lot of that shit is blue and white now.

Nadox is the same, where I can clear the entire undead side, docks, etc. before repops and even started clearing most of the luggalds before starting the undead "loop" again. But the issue of cons still remains.

Hate is the only place still consistently yellow-red on the south side, but I just haven't figured out a good route that isn't littered with the stupid Vicars, Chests, and Golems.

I’ve stopped in Veksar at 51 for the last 500 AAs. The highborne route is perfect. I get a 1min piss break between finishing the loop and new pops. I get roughly 40-45AA an hour.

I’m at 800AA and about bored enough to leave now though 😮💨

I’ll likely get smoked by VP when I get there though as I have no idea what gear is optimal etc.

Hrm maybe I should try hate? The only part that is still red at 60 is the south west corner but it's mostly dark elves? I The reds won't be assassinate-able so gotta see if the extra exp per kill makes up for the reduced kill speed

Still playing sk, bst, cleric. Just doing a daily PD kill which takes about 20 minutes to clear to and kill, not much else to do in Kunark. I'll be trying a day 1 AoW when velious is out and if its damage is too much will probably be swapping the sk to war for defensive disc.

Yeah, Kunark was always a pretty boring expansion from a "raid"/bossing standpoint. Not a lot of targets with decent loot and a lot of the dragons just drop the same shit Naggy/Vox did. VP was always pretty shit loot even in era, outside of PD drops. They've fortunately added the "updated" versions of Inny/CT, but CT is a giant PITA to kill so that's another target kind of off the table. I always viewed Kunark as mostly a "leveling" expansion, if anything.

It'll be nice to get a ton of targets to kill in another week a so. I'd just use the next week to get as many AA as possible, since with all the raid targets every 14hr lockout, there won't be much time for AAing. Plus, Velk castle is really about the only viable AA spot at 60 anyway.

whats a good lvl to head to chardok b? Am leaving guk at 30 and thinking of stopping at lvl51 Veksar for some AA then perhaps chardok b after

Chardok B was fine at 50 with SK/rog/shaman and 600 to 800ish AA, probably would of been good with less AA too though. I preferred regular chardok for the cash drops though, or nadox for the SD augs.

I already know I'm going to have analysis paralysis with all the potential choices. What are some "musts" do you absolutely need some sort of healer, or a tank?

How's the warrior, cleric, beastlord? Paladin, monk, rogue? I think I'd want at least one melee.

Depends on how much you want to solo. Feels like pali/monk/rogue doesnt have enough healing to take on the end game of things. Paladin also feels like it might be a gotcha in the end as its REALLY strong vs undead and if not for that I'd rather have anything else. War/Clr/Bst is probably good but I hate dealing with pets. I'm doing SK/Rogue/Clr and feel like there's not really a limit to what I can do even if I might kill slower than some other builds.

I’ve tried 4 now. All are not endgame but each has perks.

pal does seem like an undead gotcha, but man it just deletes undead once you get the AA. Brutal easy but my power sucked outside of undead. I backed this up with bsk/bst. Was awesome combo and bsk did great dmg actually. Bst was pet and buffs basically.

Also tried the 3 pet combo(bst/nec/mag) Was so easy it’s insane. Started to lack a bit in endgame but was kinda fun also. I basically played like necro with 1-2 dots then tank. I never got full endgame in that so bst melee might have eventually helped a bit too. Was fun in all zones and had zero issues.

then for fun I tried an ultra tank! War/shd/pal. Slow as fuck to start but man did the power ramp up. I can basically swarm pull any zone any mob type and then mass destroy. But it was painfully slow first 30 levels with some aa. I was thinking this would be powerful with a buddy as more content comes out for duo or trio groups.

overall it’s just fun to try stuff. Things split out better in later expansions but I generally find there is a lot of spell overlap with classes early on. So that can suck. Also try to pick basic dmg type, spell vs melee for example because many of the AA stack. So going half melee have spell gimps you or just makes you overall avg.

another one I’ve wanted to try is ench/Druid/wiz or maybe bard in there. All spell dmg with mana regen.
