Thats almost every MMORPG ever made. You keep repeating same content until you get what you came there for. Unless you just buy it from bazaar, but then whats the point to it all? Also you want challenge, but then you pick the only combo that steamrolls almost everything with a few clicks of a button. I get it, it was the smart combo to pick for a first character. EZ offline AA, and hardly no ramp up time. But if you want challenge, then pick something else and level it and then throw that against Bristlebane or Seru and see how you fare. Or come back when they have the SSF shit up and try something then, where you cant just buy raid gear for pennies, and get your lv 1 to 5K hp and 2K AC and then level them offline with 2-3 pets.

To be fair I started that guy with no real knowledge of the server, I didn’t start until February-ish. I started a ROG/WIZ/SK and got it to 60 with 1100 AA but it was mehhh. I might change the BRD/MAG/BST to PAL/BRD/ENC because it sounds fun.

After playing the MNK/BST/WIZ Bloodlust build, that sounds more interesting than how dull Petcuck is, compared to everything else. Makes me wonder how much is lost w/o the monk/Wiz in the build. Would be awesome to bring in Wiz for MAG/BST/Wiz... if only the combo had a way to skip trash. Monk or Bard would be the skip options and not sure which is better.

Bard also makes the mage epic into an absolute monster tank. I don’t even look at its health vs Kerafym because even if it does move, it never drops below 90%. Seru 4/4 is also a breeze (with the right augs the pet gets so strong you barely have to heal it even here).

It’s definitely getting nerfed for PoP though. Not sure how hard, but they were discussing it in the class discussion discord last weekend.

Well the bard AND the pet bag, lets not fool ourselves. If the mage pet bag was only a 4 slotter like for all the other pets that mage pet would be 1/4 as strong.

They said they are reducing pets survivability in PoP. Hopefully that helps.

On the hard casting low-level spells thing.. I haven't found that to be too horrible. Ive been doing dru wiz bard for a few. Once I use all of my mana on DDD I just spam level 5 nukes. Crits are like 3k and prismatic crits are like 5-6k. Given I'm spamming these it's not so bad.

Spamming higher nukes is tough. The big ones hit for about the same as DDD on a crit, but DDD casts much faster with no CD (at about twice the mana). Better to take advantage of burn AAs by far than hard casting. The bard modifiers are just really strong. I've been trying to kill 2-3 bosses at a time in VT with DDD which seems efficient. Though they keep accidently pulling the top floors which is annoying.

I hope they nerf it, but it's definitely a case of, "I'll believe it when I see it" with me. Especially knowing the collective reeeeing that'll happen if they do that.

Some of the interactions are a little silly. The regena and two rune songs make the bard and pets just insanely tanky.

I thought bard ench wiz would barely be able to survive vs bosses and that I'd be spamming runes constantly. In reality it is significantly tankier than war/rog/bst, despite the later having 7k more life and double bloodlust.

Dropping the ench I now have the druid short term mega regen (which is permanent here) on top of those two runes and normal regen.

At my SP/HP, and including Regen, that's 441 healing and 342 rune every tick. I am currently afk with 3 VT rock guys on me and I am never going under 98% or so. And not particularly specific to my build, but combining wiz crits with healing crits, my lifetap sword can crit heal for 7.5k in combat. Just auto attacking with that and casting whatever I want is basically invincible.

Which 2 bard runes, whats the name of the songs? I think I only have the Lv60? one.

In other news, since sat, when I changed the rogue/monk/shammy to rogue/monk/mage ive gotten 1700 offline AA for him... And now yesterday I took my pally/enc/rogue and switched it to pally/monk/mag and he now has over 500AA, lol. rogue does not profit from backstab bonus with shield spec and Dopples have absolutely no interactions with melee. So kind of waste. Gonna turn this into pally/monk/zerker when I get about 2K AA on him. And if his deeps end up sucking, Ill turn the pally into cleric.But prolly wait until after PoP and see what drops there first. Im sure hell be fine, many people are using this combo, just that dps is lower than with cleric.

Not sure what to do with the rogue/monk/ I was thinking shammy for long term, but for short term it prob be best to just make the 3rd a SK so I can start using him right away. Plop some more spell dmg shit on them since hes pretty much white attack at the moment.

I wanted to get these guys all AAed up before the 50% exp bonus goes away.

Last night I sold mage epic for 80k and ditched mage.

I’m swapping my brd/mag/bst to pal/brd/enc (thank you for the recommendation!) W Witless

Now I’ve just got to wait a week to finish swapping bst to PAL.

I didn’t want to start another char, this guy already has 1700 AA and all the relevant gear up to legendary, PLUS I bought the auto-sell merchant bags on him already and I ain’t buying those again.

Should be fun to try out just in time for PoP.

Thats one thing I keep on not doing on this server is getting all the fucking spells/songs on characters. You level so fast, especially with this 50% exp bonus that you just have no time. So I usually pick up some lv 1-10 shit, then like lv 30 and then like lv 50+ shit and everything in between I just end up missing. I go through the list on alla and just pick up what I think would be beneficial shit. Skipping the rest. On my pet cuck I think I have like 10% of mage spells memmed, lol.

I went back at level 60 and bought spells. Literally had maybe 2-3 spells in the book.

This is honestly the best part of PoP. All that shit is centrally located.

The server wiki is really good and easier to navigate for stuff like spells; the descriptions are all on the same page, so it's easier to know what you would actually use, as to not waste time on worthless spells in your book. It will also tell you the location of that spell on the server and give you a map (if you click on the scroll link, after clicking on the spell link): Spells :: THJDI

You can also use the /outputfile spells command to see what spells you're missing. But with PoP only a week away, I'm just waiting.
