I think this is a good point to be made, that something doesn't have to be difficult to obtain to be meaningful in a game. Too many times, the coolest shit, or the best moments are locked behind some form of wall. Pay wall, puzzle wall, obscure location wall, something.

TLoU of course does an amazing job of this, and half way through the game I can't wait for more.

Looks like it was th MSRP that was dropped to $50. It's the same price everywhere now, and amazon doesn't show it as a $10 discount anymore, just straight up $49

For the time it was released, AC 2 is the best. Ezio is just such a good character for the AC world, though I could see someone going back and playing it now think that 4 is better

TLoU was pretty much a perfect game for me. A true mastery of the art form. I even watched a 2 hour youtube video on the making of it (obviously dont watch it if you don't want spoilers). So many awesome moments, and moments where I wanted to play through super fast to see what the hell could happen next.

I'm pretty sure this is the first console game I've ever beaten all the way through! That was so good!!

Tough call. I believe I was on Joel's side. F the rest of humanity, she needs to live, and have a life. She was basically Joel's daughter, and I completely understand where he is coming from. At the same time, it was an OMG moment when he straight up lied to her about what happened.

My first thought was that maybe they asked her what she wanted to do. I see Ellie being the type of person that would sacrifice to save the world. However, it's not like the infected don't bite and beat you to death, so finding a cure for it doesn't seem all that important to me. You are still in huge danger.

Was still a great ending! Loved it! Can't wait for more!

I was unhappy with the way they (doctors) went about the whole thing. I think I would of been more sympathetic if they didn't just try to carve her up the second she got there and actually took time to show they ran all kinds of tests and procedures to at least attempt to keep her alive.

Since they treated her like a piece of meat and the entire thing just felt wrong I'm glad I blasted the fuck out of all of them.

hahaha, I got to that part, and I was like wtf do I do? Do I kill them, do I not? I ended up blasting all of them in the head, including the nurses, and said to the screen, Didn't want to die, then you shouldn't have thought chopping up a girl was a good idea!!

To preface, if you haven't played the game yet, I would personally refrain from watching these screenshots.They're pretty spoiler-y.

Anyway, here are a few direct feed screenshots that were apparently part of a batch that were sent to Japan for a print-only feature (confirmed by Arne Meyer on neogaf. Arne Meyer being a "community strategist" at Naughty Dog):

So yeah, it's not much, so we're still pretty much stuck waiting until Naughty Dog releases some high quality gamersyde footage or something of that nature.

All in all though, the improvements in terms of IQ are pretty clear, and barring the different lighting in the pre-rendered cutscene screenshot, the in-game Joel model looks pretty close. Can't really make much out concerning the quality of the environments. Very optimistic this game is going to end up looking amazing. Or rather, even more so than the PS3 version, given how much of a looker it already was.

Somewhat of a media blow-out going on at the moment. They include some screenshots, but it's not clear whether they're downsampled or whatnot.

There are also some media impressions, all of which seem to be very positive. You can find them overhere.

It also seems to include a photo mode as a day-one patch, which will be awesome, and for some weird reason, a 30 fps lock. It seems to imply that it has drops from 60 fps, but then again,they've been so vocal about reaching 60 fpsthat I'm presuming it's in there for people who actually prefer 30 fps for whatever reason. We'll have to wait and see on that account.

Oh, and they're thinking about new multiplayer DLC, but nothing concrete on that yet.

I'm really looking forward to this. While I played and beat the PS3 version on normal, I didn't 100% it and I never played the multiplayer since my friend had already used the MP key. I had borrowed the game from him.

As amazing as the single player is (and it was in the pantheon of "best games ever" for me personally on that account alone), they actually somehow nailed the multiplayer almost as well, and managed to deliver arguably one of the best multiplayer experiences. If you liked the actual stealth gameplay in TLOU (as in, you didn't play on easy, and uncharted your way through the game), you should definitely give it a shot.

edit: update on the framerate:Twitter / Neil_Druckmann: Since some people asked for ...

He SEEMS to be implying that it is an actually locked 60 fps. Or at the very least, so close to 60 fps to the point where you might as well call it locked.
