A boat filled with explosives is way more dangerous to a destroyer than an anti tank missile would be. It hits at the water line on a low to non angled surface so the armor there is less than impacting off the front armor on the main superstructure. Had the helos been launching anti shipping missiles from that close of range it is unlikely it could have survived one let alone multiples. But old soviet hellfire equivalents would probably cause some damage but mostly superficial and repairable.

It was objectively bad, especially both Captain America and Science MILF characters. I didn't mind acting tho, since my brain was too busy fighting nonsense writing. Would watch couple more episodes to see if there's more warship porn than vaccine/cure drama, but it doesn't look good at all.

Stereotypical evil Russian villain...although given the way some of his officers were glancing around, I wouldn't be half surprised if they frag the admiral eventually.

Also lol at that guy who has the relationship with that girl getting mad after he put himself into the situation to begin with

As cheesy as this show is, it's got me hooked. Show will get interesting when they find the line sex trade ship that has avoided the virus.

I don't think it is cheesy at all. It is really better than 90% of the shit series out there imo. On the other hand I watched Falling Skies after it and I couldn't tell you a thing about it, I kept wandering off to do other things.

The dialogue back and forth between the Russian Admiral and the American Capt. was cheesy. I really wish the capt. would have blasted them and chugged out of there.

Not sure really how the russian thought he was really going to get the doctor lady. Give her to us or we shall nuke you. Okay sir go right ahead. Then you get no cure and you and your crew and everybody you love dies to the weaponised plague. They cannot take her from the ship themselves the "spy" they had never had any real chance of success.

Also one thing that bugs me is why the doctors sat phone was not placed in a secure facility after its existence was made known to the captain. There is no reason for it any longer after all access to the CDC was lost.

Liked the three episodes so far. IMDB has 9 episodes listed so far. Since it is a cable summer series sounds about right.

what the heck is going on with bubble boy who eats mice

ok show but not sure how they can stretch this out forever. the foreshadowing is too heavy handed, mole guy asking the captain "WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR FAMILY WAS TAKEN" derp

10 episode season so only 7 more this summer, would be nice if its setup like fargo or horror story or true detective where an entire story is told in 1 season but I am pretty sure instead they are gonna go full retard by the end of the season.

My guess, which I think is highly likely to be accurate, is that he is "what they have that she needs to find a cure." In other words, he has the virus, but is immune to it. He breathed on the mouse to make sure it got the virus, so he could continue experimenting. That's why he's in quarantine, not just for cleanliness purposes like Rhona Mitra.

In an engagement between missile cruisers like that, the victor would be whoever could lock and fire first; the CIWS are effective but not against a full spread. They wouldn't be sitting there star trek style staring at each other. The Aegis destroyer probably would have prevailed due to superior EW. Those Kirov class boats are old as fuck.

Watching them do some kind of mission impossible special action rather than opening up with their missiles was disappointing. :p

Well ya, I covered that in the 2nd post where the Navy requires Bay make them look good in order to use 2-3 ships and crew for filming the series. A price acceptable for the ship porn.
Still find it interesting TNT ordered 10 but only 9 titles have been released in name/description. I assume the 10th was on hold until they see if it was a green light for more seasons first?

Show still got 4.1 million viewers which for cable shows was #1 again Sunday. Falling Skies in comparison pulled 2.7 million.

the logic for not firing was that the russian ship had nukes so unless you can score a total kill rapidly the other ship will just set off a nuke and kill everyone

the russian ship didn't fire since it wanted dr lara croft, alive

Since this started, I've consistently watched this show before I ever get around to Falling Skies. I mean, I've always been a fan of "armed forces" centered shows/movies, but you'd think I'd be more excited every week to see freaking aliens. But Falling Skies has just kind of gotten stale and it is barely about aliens at all anymore. At least if there is boring drama on The Last Ship I still get awesome panoramic shots of the ship every few minutes.
