As someone that has been watching Critical Role for a long time...it definitely got worse after they got popular, so I do feel like it was pressured on them. MOST of the gay/lesbian relationships and characters early on were guests, with the exception of Vax being bisexual. In S2, a couple of the girls decided to have their characters hook up and become a couple, but no idea if they were just pandering to the crowd.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm forgetting what was actually in episodes from Season 1 of Critical Role, so no idea if the devil's backstory was that in-depth way back then, but the characters he references regarding The Calamity were introduced in a short Exandria Unlimited series between Season 2 and 3. One of the guest stars played a gay character that I think was either this devil or the devil's husband.

They're all a bunch of raging faggots, which is intensely annoying because being able to see D&D come to life on screen via animation (and the animation and choreography are superb) is just fun as fuck. But then every 5 minutes I'm reminded how fucking obnoxiously queer these fucking faggots are. And honestly Sam's hypersexual shit is obnoxious too, faggotry aside. The potty humor probably only flies under my radar because it 90% comes from Grog (like the scene where he ascertains Ripley's location from the two kids is pretty great, farting included).

My love for the D&D mythos/universe is one of my top hobby "passions" or however you'd describe it, so I will continue to watch as long as the overall story/experience is entertaining, but I'm counting the days until people can create their own Arcane/VoxMachina-quality animated cinematics with AI based on prompts and parameters. The day we can eschew Hollywood faggotry forever will be pretty great.

That's really disappointing. I've disliked the first two episodes this season and it sounds like it gets worse. The first two seasons slowly led to this scenario, but I was hoping it wouldn't. Honestly, it's about 60-65% pushed homo now, and the other % mashes in the jokes, vulgarity and actual D&D which isn't sustainable for me at least. I might get through the season but if it continues at this pace, fuck this franchise. I quit Castlevania for very similar reasons and it felt pretty damn good. The story, while solid, isn't good enough, and the amazing visuals aren't either.

Yeah it's definitely frustrating. For me so far, the awesome fights between ancient dragons and greater devils, or ancient dragons and sphynxes, and so on, are good enough for me to tune in. I would Thanos snap them all if I could, though.

In the episode immediately after the demon/devil talks about his husband, one of the feminist lesbian characters talks about "the woman she fell in love with" twice in two minutes. Of course her "love" is a stereotypical badass Dwarven Fighter, but with a cunt.

The low brow 3rd grade humor was slightly amusing the first time or two, but it got old really, really fast. And the jokes about modern sexual kinks/toys are beyond cringe, but I'm sure it lands with their Leftist fans. Most of them are absolute degenerates.

I wish it wasn't the case, but you're right. The options for cool D&D-themed content are non-existent, but part of me still hates watching it because it promotes making more of the same.

I guess something is better than nothing, but the whole situation is incredibly disappointing because the show could be an easy 9/10.

Not like there is much else to watch really, might as well give it a chance. Outside of Penguin I'm dealing with Tulsa king, and High Potential

Oh snap, just remembered Arcane is coming soon! Better not fag it up and focus on Vi and Caitlyn's relationship and turn Ekko gay or some shit

Yeah it's clear they are making some significant shifts in the overall storyline. I do like that they mined some Mighty Nein backstory to give more justification for Ripley's crusade to provide guns to common folk.

yeah, the whole thing is a good case study in slippery slope and round robin of peer hysteria.

Matt was always woke as fuck. He was constantly adding gay, they/them non binary, ACE, bi, etc npcs. "we love you very much".
this is then egged on by the cat lady fans. Shipping, and seal clapping at the token representation.

the other cast members get in on it and encourage it as well.

sam is just a troll, and finds it funny.
Talison is tryhard counter culture emo. 110% all in. probably cucks, and bottoms to be "cool".
liam is just cringe emo.
Trevor is just pussy whipped into it.
laura was probably cool as shit 15 years ago, but has been surrounded by these people too long. she's bought into it.
ashley is a doormouse, and has gone along with it too.
marisha is basic as fuck, while pretending to not be. she 100% bought into the LA bullshit long ago. deep into LA activism since before crit role.

Which is the big thing... all LA clowns.

special guest stars all industry destroying cultists as well, like kate leth.

it wasn't forced on them. it was all them. but it was encouraged by a circle jerk for sure.

You guys think they are really going to keep him dead?
I think he's dead. After he died, he was just a background scene and a jumping off point for Vex to have a scene where the writers verbally tell the audience, not once, but multiple times over, that her heart has been closed off all this time and that she's a strong independent woman. Percy just overwhelmingly seems like a spring board, character wise, for the assassin and Vex - as Percy's story was kind of done over a season ago. Scanlan feels like a "We need to kill this character, but lets see how the audience reacts first" kind of thing. Hard to have a real solid take on a show where people are constantly coming back from the dead or near death experiences.

Both characters, you can see their original story underneath the current one. Percy's story, to be shot and die at that point.. looks as though it was always planned to be this way. You could remove the love affair with Vex and nothing would change. Scanlan on the other hand - this whole surprise daughter redemption arc is.. not good. The writers are pursuing this redemption arc for him for being a bisexual slut, willing to fuck anything, by.. giving him a daughter thats.. a traveling entertainer that works at the local pubs for a handful of coin every night. Excuse me if I roll my eyes as a slut condemns another slut. MAYBE if her story was that she was more like Pike - then I could understand. But no.. this story fucking awful because Scanlan would at least throw her profession back in her face. So its not even based in a reality thats relatable.

Which really, those two stories ultimately ruined those characters for me personally. Those stories are out of place and forced in and for them to react to these stories as they are, completely changes their identity within the show and only leaves a couple things that are purely based on them being axed.

One: They axed both of these characters because theyre fucking unlikable now.

Two: The show was renewed for another season midway through the writing for this or sometime shortly after finishing up this season and there was an actual mandate for them to make the show more inclusive. Im surprised Vax made the cut, but he does come off as a Mexican for some reason... even though he's turned into just a brooding emo.

Like seriously what the actual fuck. Fuck this gay clown world.
He is in hell, so being gay checks out. Save your outrage for the gay angel

Did the song at the end of ep7 sound like shit-quality garbage, or was I having a stroke? If that was an “artistic” choice, what the fuck.
