box office pro, had predicted on wednesday it would earn $117.8m for 3 day weekend and $149m for 4 days. then on friday changed it to $105m and $134m. the reported estimate today is $95.5m.

-7% below 2016’s The Jungle Book ($103.2M)
-17% below 2010’s Alice in Wonderland ($116.1M)
-45% below 2017’s Beauty and the Beast ($174.7M)
-50% below 2019’s The Lion King ($191.7M)
+4% above 2019’s Aladdin ($91.5M).

“The Little Mermaid” has posted an international opening of just $68 million from 51 markets. Not only is that down 44% from the $121 million international opening of “Aladdin,” but it’s even less than the $87 million earned this weekend by Universal’s “Fast X.” Mexico is the top international market with $8.5 million while markets like Korea, China and Germany all reported less than $3 million each.

saw China's estimate is $550k. a youtuber was saying the ccp put out a letter denouncing race swapping fairy tales, but couldn't find a link to it.

Is it a coincidence that the more the US has embraced black culture the worse things have gotten?

Whats hilarious is I bet 80% or more of blacks would rather just have their own country, a black America, and then a white America. Its like reverse racism, but actually racism. Are we going back to the future? Instead of North vs South now its Cities vs Suburbs.

I was just pointing to the fact that a movie like this even being made in the first place can never happen unless you went down the black lives matter road. It was almost like a free-for-all, you could see it plain as day. All the sudden after the George Floyd episode, there was a noticeable ratcheting up of "black culture" and blacks in general being offered roles and positions they would have never been able to get otherwise.(You had middle aged suburban white men and women literally kissing the feet of joggers) Culture is reflected in media/art and you started to see race swapping more and more.

If true that would be a very rare time that I actually agree with the CCP.

This is where we are in 2023, where the Communist Chinese release a statement, and you find yourself shaking your head in agreement.

Incredible.

This movie needs to make close to 600mil to break even.

With into the Spiderverse 2 releasing next week it might steal away profits from this movie.

it wont make 200m this holiday weekend. its not going to be 50% drop on weekend 2. more like 60% or higher. maybe 40m on weekend 2 domestic and 20m globally then plummets every week after.

seen few youtubers pointing out the audience score has been locked at 95% for several thousand votes. all audience has went up about 10 points

+4% above 2019’s Aladdin ($91.5M).

saw a clip from wdw pro saying going by ticket prices compared to aladdin, they have sold around 25% less tickets.

took my daughter to see this this weekend, the animated remains one of her favorite Disney movies, she liked Aladdin better than this but she still enjoyed it quite a bit.
