Wish I could get excited for this but I just am not an anime fan at all. It looks well made but the art style doesnt go with Middle Earth.

I'm a huge fan of Tolkien stuff and the LOTR movies but this is an odd take on it really... the art style is indeed not really suited to european fantasy, and even if you look past that, it... doesn't look super impressive? I mean, animated movies made 20 or 30 years ago looked as good or better. Castevania on Netflix looked better and was probably a lot cheaper to make.

I understand these things take years to get off the ground, but Arcane season 1 came out in November 2021. The audience has had the bar for animation raised, how do you not scrap what you’ve got and start again?

This was 3 years ago

To add insult to injury, Arcane season 2 releases in November so even more comparisons will be fresh in the mind when this rolls out at Christmas.

We got that calibre in the comfort of our homes and they expect us to go to the cinema for this? No bueno

Halfway through the trailer: "OK, not super excited, but I could watch this."
Then I realized it was another girlboss movie.

20 years ago the "I am no man" line was a clever twist on the prophecy and I didn't mind it so much even if I thought the delivery was a bit cringey in the movie compared to how I remembered it feeling in the book. Leia taking Luke's gun and blastering away was fine 25 years before that. You know my guilty pleasure movies that actually have a girlboss? Resident Evil.

It can be done well. They haven't been doing it well.

The Underworld movies as well.
I don't remember a single line in that movie being girl power, it was just a crazy hot woman doing cool shit. Probably why it worked instead of the "She's not alone" part of Avengers cringe scenery & other flavors of it.

The line The Left keeps using about us old guys having not grown up with "strong, independent woman" is complete bullshit. And I'll keep pointing it out:

The Angels went out and kicked ass while Charlie and Bosley sat on their asses.
Wonder Woman was the hero, and Steve Trevor was the sidekick.
I won't bother going into my long tirade about how awesome The Greatest American Hero was as a symbol of manhood, but it was. And the chick could give the guys shit as well as she took it.
All the "girl bosses" from my childhood were strong, capable women in their own right. The difference today? Our chicks didn't need to be ugly, hateful cunts. Which is the message The Left keeps trying to send: if you don't hate men, and shame them at every opportunity, whilst turning yourself in a grotesque, hateful excuse for a human being, then you're not a real woman with any power. It's complete bullshit.

You must have missed the point that those were all hot chicks in skimpy suits.

The close ups were on their boobs and butts when they were running in slow motion.

The "modern" gurl boss has no sex appeal. No slo mo titties. No tight skimpy clothes. Which is why guys no longer want to watch them. No one cared that wonder woman was beating up men because we were too busy drooling over her huge tits and tiny waist.

I did not miss that fact. Mother Nature is real, and The Left wants to pretend it's not. Obviously, that's an issue.
But the fact that Lynda Carter was hot as fuck wasn't the only selling point. I specifically brought up the other qualities because that seems to get zero attention. Yes, we didn't need our girl bosses to be ugly in appearance, but we ALSO didn't need to make them ugly with their personality, or in how they treated others-- especially men. The Left, literally, wants to normalize women being as ugly on the outside as they "should" feel on the inside. It's sickening.

It really did raise the bar on animation. Everytime I see something new coming out I compare it to arcane. Same with Puss n boots The last wish, Pixar looks like crap next to that movie

How many actual women warriors in thousands of years of recorded history has there been? I can't think of any.

Most that I know of are from the Viking and Asian cultures. I'd name some, but then someone would claim that they were all just myths and require 4k video proof of them fighting men.

If there was even one it would be a household name. Joan of Arc they at least allowed to wear armor but she's the only one I can even think about approaching a battlefield. And she was not a combatant.

So lemme get this straight, your own ignorance proves there were no female warriors ever?

I like how the one group I thought was most likely fake, the amazons, is the fist one he said was true. He didn't talk about vikings or asians. I don't know this guy but I guess he has a focus on this area of the world.
