I mean, didn't he fucking have enough control though given what it took to beat the defender and bring the ball down? It was an incredible football play. I dunno how you just make that play disappear. Really a shitty way for a game to end.

The Cowboys are gay and Dez is an annoying child but that was an excellent play and a terrible call. My 2 cp.

I'll tell you why it doesn't matter. If Dez hadn't come up with the ball after it went up into the air, it wouldn't have been a catch and fumble, it would've just been incomplete. The fact that he did is inconsequential since the ball hit the ground and came out.

It's the same as when a receiver traps the ball into the ground. If part of the ball hits the ground, it's incomplete, even if he had control over the ball.
