Bronze Age tribalism was incredibly socialist.
No money, do any job for the tribe and get rewarded with supplies, clothing and food. Etc.

Ya but any and all government was conducted at the local level, never dealt with any pesky Feds. Every government that has ever existed has some sort of socialism to it, that's kind of the whole point of forming a government...collectivism and all that, so nothing they pick can ever be completely free of the taint of socialism.

I know, but I just find it amusing all of these people that want to scale things back to tribal, living in a bunker shit where they'll live under a leader and share supplies with everyone with everyone bringing a handful of skills to the equation and everyone being treated pretty much equally - while bashing socialism and hoping for the US to fail to make their bunker life a reality.
The fact that they don't see the paradoxical nature of it amuses the shit out of me.

That is part of it, that competition drives us off our lazy asses but it also drives down the price of labor because they are willing to do the same task for less. so yeah it's retarded to say that it's your fault if some 1/2 retarded guy is willing to do your job under the table for a fraction of the price because waiting tables, working a machine or being a farmer is now suddenly equivalent to being shit. ultimately it's worst effects happen to poor people and current resident minorities. there's PLENTY of unemployed people now, so why do we exactly do we need to ship in people to undercut labor prices even more?
