my first guitar and bass I ever purchased are from rondo, and they still hold up. Best bang for your buck.
I have a tascam model 12 that I picked up that is fantastic, and pretty versatile. reach channel has compression and you can set them pre or post and record on the unit standalone, and through a PC at the same time. Also I can hook up bluetooth things to it and it will record that to a track.Anyone have suggestions on recording interfaces? Mine died on me. I'm used to the PreSonus and it treated me pretty well, but I'm willing to switch it up.

For a decent budget interface the bheringer euphoria line is pretty good. I have the 4 channel one and its been quite useful.
You mentioned later you only need two inputs. You will never want room recordings or anything? Setting up a room mic and blending it in is not for everyone but I love it, especially for acoustic stuff.Anyone have suggestions on recording interfaces? Mine died on me. UA gear is incredible but I figured coming from Presonus and what he was talking about recording, they were not in the budget.I'm a big universal audio fan but they run you a bit more in the $$$ department. Being able to buy plug ins that will run on the extra chips and off load the performance to the hardware for tons better latency overall is a very nice thing.
Any recording is good recording bud. As long as you are enjoying it and using the gear that is really all that matters.I just don't need anything at that level yet. Despite how long I've been playing, I've dabbled very little in home recording. But given COVID doldrums I feel I should get back into it.
