Looking for a new stuf of 6 inline tuning machines for one of my telecasters. I've upgraded both of the ones I have over time to newer/better fender machines. Looking what else is out there. Like a lot of things availability seems low. Bonus would be black ones but that's not going to happen.

Something like this?

The ones on my Gretsch are great.

GAS. Ordered new tuning machines and while I was at it ordered a new pickup set so both my telecasters won't have the exact same. Plus a new pickguard and control pots.

Anyone use a Boss RC-10R Rhythym station? Combined looper and some drugs/rhythm. I'm not going to use it for performing or anything like that. I have a Boss looper but if I could combine one would be nice if it seems worth it. Or just add something like a beatbuddy in front of the looper. My timing sucks now. Reviews are pretty meh.

Honestly you should be able to just be fine using just the RC-10R since it has rythm, and if you wanted to take it to the next level it syncs with midi as well, which helps with looping at a set length.

RIght now I have 3 loopers, one akai headrush 2, a looper through my stero memory man ( I can flip loops in reverse and manipulate the timing in various ways) and a boss RC 300 which I used to use a ton when gigging to bank phrases and loops that I made per song, but dont use it anymore.

Yeah I know it will do what I want just wondering if anyone had ever used one. The reviews are meh at best. A lot of them saying the sound is horrible. But of course online reviews, normally no matter the item someone will ask if it fits a 1973 Dodge van.

Christmas is getting closer, another present under the tree.

Looking at sweetwater today. Something on the front page for $99 or having a special no interest for 48 months. 3$/month for 48 months = no interest. Umm what? I'm not financing $100 but just thought it must be new math.

Got my tuning machines. After searching for ones in stock for a few days amazon put the fender ones in black on sale 50% off. Amazing how that works lol. Almost as if amazon is watching. Yes I now they are in search.

what do you use to record, and what genre?
I use a UA USB interface and my original stuff is mostly jam band ish but I've recorded most genre's at one point or another. I record everything basically, when one of my bands over the years practiced at my house, I recorded everything every time. I always figure better to have it down just in case. I have a decent amount of equipment and my neighbor has even more, so we use whatever we need to get the job done.

In my band days I recorded everything. Every rehearsal, jam session, live show. Unfortunately I have no idea what happened to most of those. I saved some live show performances on SoundCloud but I lost the vast majority.

Oh that sucks, I always transfer it to externals and keep in on my media server for the house. Sorry to hear you lost all that stuff man.

anyone record your own music here?
How about you? Do you record and if so with what and what kind of music? Do you play guitar only or anything else?

Edit: You probably have already mentioned it but I either didn't see or it mixed people up.

I have recorded music in all the bands I have been in aside from one song in one band because the singer wanted to have one of his songs be produced by gwen stefani or some shit. That band of course went no where.

for about 12 years though I recorded tons of DIY bands essentially for beer and weed. I used to volunteer and perform weekly at a DIY venue in LA called the smell, where I would just record all of the bands that I could.

genre wise I have mostly been in post rock, post punk, grunge bands, but these days I have been more into synths, samplers, AKA automating the jobs of other musicians to arrange my ideas. Also I have been working on a video game with a friend where I am making sound effects, music, and helping with some of the art direction and so on.

I have recorded through quite a few interfaces, and at one time I used an RME fireface, with lynx aurora converters when I ran a "studio". but I have since let go of my fireface, and just kept my converter (mainly because its was something I really had to invest in, I dont use it much these days) and my rack effects.

Right now I just use a tascam model 12 that I bought last year, which can record within the console, or be used to record onto a PC. This is the best solution for me personally, as I am not a fan of fucking with a PC when i work on the musics, for as long as I can manage. I find computers to deter the music process.

If I want to record on the move, I use a tascam DP-03SD. since i have used this little unit for about 5 years, I can do quite a bit with it.

as for instruments, I mostly play keys and guitar/bass and singing. But i have played in concert/marching band and drum corps for 6 years so I can play pretty much anything if I get my hands on it.

Im not the best or even good I should say, but its something I consistently do as some sort of labor of love for sure. Probably never will stop making shitty little songs haha, I have tried.

I feel you I am the same way. I am not the best by any means but I like to record as much as possible and you never know when you hit some gold.

I do use both my laptop and usb interface when recording elsewhere that doesn't have its own setup and my pc and interface at home. I would love to have a full board setup but that will have to be the next house in a few years at least. I always used the computer so its like second nature at this point.

I am a singer and keyboard player for the most part but, I have played bass and guitar for a long time as well. I can at least play well enough to get my ideas down fairly easily. I have played all but bass and drums in bands and still do.

When I was little I took piano lessons for 10 or so years. That is my first love and so I always have my main workstation and my main organ keys setup with mic when inspiration hits. I am lucky enough to have a full room dedicated to just music gear so all instruments are in reach so to speak. Keys though are never broken down except if I am using them on the road.

I do still play in some cover bands in the summer time as I live in a beach/resort area. That is mostly helping out friends or filling in or helping out a bar owner etc. I used to do that all the time when younger but now I stick to original stuff and bands. I live relatively close to multiple towns/cities that do original stuff that is great. I don't have it like Identikit Identikit in LA but we get around to Boston, NYC, Philadelphia as well as smaller places. I used to do the college gigs up and down the east coast but not for awhile now.

My main writing partner has had some real success selling lyrics. Together we have done ok, nothing major but enough that it seems to be going somewhere. If I am honest, I don't like the direction of the writing necessarily because of what is popular but its still cool and good learning experience.

I do some session work as well and that is always a ton of fun. Anything to expand my repertoire and learn.

I like writing lyrics and have a partner that has been really successful on his own. We have some success with our writing as well over the last couple years. Nothing huge but have been able to sell songs.

I have a lot of the stuff I've recorded but getting to them would be a serious pain. I think it was in '95 I got my first pro tools system so I've got old ass SCSI drives all over the place. I imagine some of the bands could have some of it as well. I think I would rather re record it today than go through the process of getting it off the drives, lol.

looking at that photo brings back a ton memories, fuck that thing was expensive as fuck and I got it at cost because I worked for the dealer at the time. That was my first real setup for a working studio
