Cool movie if you like unexplained disappearances.

This was good. The one from Montana was really interesting. Finding the boots, thermos and cup a few days after the area was searched? It was flat and fairly clear ground. Then finding his backpack 8 months later?

Rodents of unusual size? I don't think they exist.

Anywho, statistics suggest mysterious death by quicksand is a thing. So, not actually a guess.

Okay so these search and rescue groups never once found a patch of obvious quicksand in the area, or a pop up sinkhole, or something similar and put two and two together?

I keep telling you these are interesting because they baffled the search and rescue people.

When they do, and they find the body, the story doesn't go into one of these videos.

:p

Documentary was interesting but I think it focused on too few stories instead of examining the stats and just how many people are missing.

The answer is that some were murdered by the people they were with, some were murdered by random strangers, some were kidnapped, some were taken by animals and some were accidents cause by nature.

Well of course its something mundane and not just the one thing causing all those disappearances. Thats not the point though. Its about how odd it is that all those mysterious disappearances are linked to one region. Its basically the bermuda triangle on land. The bermuda triangle story was sexy and fun, it sold a lot of books and movies and sparked discussion. This is no different, it even lured Quicksand Downvote out of his hideyhole to come join the discussion.

The Bermuda triangle is no longer mysterious, its causes were just bad weather and methane bubbles, the ships are being found so they werent taken to a different dimension or outer space. But it was a fun story to talk about. This is too, no need to be a party pooper.

Sure but if there was any evidence of that as opposed to just speculating they would have said so. Not sure why you act like the obvious angles weren't explored. That they were explored and came up with nothing is why these cases are interesting in the first place.

Back in 38 a 4 year old was hiking with his folks at the base of a mountain name The Devils Nest. The boy disappeared suddenly, though they were hiking single file within arms reach of each other.
A massive search turned up nothing.
The same day he disappeared, another couple were hiking in the area and saw a young boy sitting on a cliff near the top of the mountain, 3000ft up. It's very treacherous terrain to day the least.
These folks watched him get jerked backwards from the cliff but didnt see Who or What jerked him backwards.
His remains were never found.

There are others like this account. These are the ones that are quite puzzling.
Maybe crazy mountain man forest ninja needing a snack?

The other 411 movie has one where a 5 year old wanders off the property. Some farm in Montana or whatever. This kid was found, and survived. He remembers nothing obviously.

Thing is he was found like 10 miles away over rough terrain. Les Stroud, the survivor man, walked the kids suspected route and it took him like 8 hours. Odds of a 5 year old making this trek are basically nil. Can't take a horse on this route because its rough terrain.

Nobody knows how or why but the authorities of course explored the obvious angles. Kidnappers who abandoned their victim? Who knows...
