And like I said, Gobekli is one of many tepe's, and once you look into the flawed dating at a lot of sites with megalithic activity, you start to realize that it's pretty likely that most of them, all around the world, are pre 12k bc and have been built on top off by later, post cataclysm civs. Even most of the pyramids have megalithic foundations which don't match the pyramid on top.

there is also the problem of not excavating beyond a certain depth. if science says X people only lived in X spot during X period of time. there is no reason to dig any deeper than that level in the ground. there could be entire cities buried in the ground, but since we never dig below the "established" timeline, we will never know.

Yes, sometimes the theories are super fucked up. I mean, Ancient Aliens is pretty out there. Spacemen? Aliens? More like advanced civs wearing helmets. But they have put a spotlight on these ancient sites. Which has put the whole concept of our narrated history into question world wide. The more we dig, the more we discover and fill in the blanks. And yet, Modern Day Academia still refutes every bit of it. More concerned with control over the money they get from keeping the status quo than truth.

A dude who lived near us when I was growing up was a marine electrician and historian. I'll remember his name later today. Anyway, he mostly wrote articles and stuff for various history related journals about the history of seafaring in our corner of the world, the Pacific Northwest. The history of what ship did what, who went where, etc. Below was the dude's own rabbit hole. This is the Basque Number system, as far as I know it is still used today in Basque Country area of France for various things. The Basque have been seafaring a long time but the question was how long?

Anyway, super cool dude to talk to. The Basque number system here is base 20. Now, you can find evidence of this scrawled all over places in Canada and parts of the USA. Many, many centuries before Europeans supposedly found the New World. Which threw into question the entire understanding of exactly when people began circling the globe. Which throws into question everything else. This kind of thing isn't even contested really anymore in marine history... it just isn't part of mainstream knowledge. At all.

Albaola history - San Sebastian museum - basque maritime heritage -> Basque's in Newfoundland in the 16th Century and they were out and about long before any of this.

What would lead you to believe that the dating for Gobekli Tepe is correct and all of the other ones are wrong?

I get that you guys probably get a little tired of people naysaying, particularly people that haven't done all the "research" that you guys have. I feel the same way at times with the people I work with, just in the opposite direction. And maybe these past couple pages have been exasperating with a few people coming in and giving contradictory opinions. But look at these two statements and tell me that those "invite discussion." Or is that not the purpose of this thread? Is it only for like-minded people to congregate? I'm asking seriously, because maybe I misunderstood and I've been following this thread for the wrong reasons.

It's just my general belief after reading / watching a lot of stuff. It could be wrong on either side, but the claim is that archaeologists will often cherry pick the material to carbon date from specific spots in the strata to get the date they are looking for. This is obviously easier and tougher given the circumstances of the site, but you can go over all the dating methodologies on the published papers for each specific site and draw a conclusion to how fair and accurate the dating might be.

Some rockstars will pull the data out of the hard to read published paper and make it a bit easier for the layman, sort of like this:

How old is it? Dating Göbekli Tepe.

This 'blog post' should be perfect for you because this guy is actually skeptical towards the end at the way the dating material for gobekli was presented and highlights the overarching problem with dating and how it's presented by archaeologists.

calling people dumbasses and morons for having opposing views isnt constructive to this thread, outright denying carbon dating which is accepted science by all parties in order to bolster a narrative is also not constructive. they have found wood inside the Great Pyramid, but will not allow it to be carbon dated or the results released publicly. there is a narrative being pushed. as long as people are willing to engage in civil debate is always fine.
