Yeah Robby is going to need some counseling. He had not really gotten past the death of his mentor. He needs a break, before he does....

So the finale is probably going to involve the shooter and now I think it is the same guy who punched the nurse. They brought that back up with the dayshift coming in.

The guy wants to show them what a busy ER should look like and of course will want to then revisit the ER and finish off the insanity.

Every episode feels like a season finale and we have two episodes left.

Nah that is bad made for TV writing, show is crushing it. It is possible the older women in the sling they said might have PTSD knows the shooter or is some way responsible. Seriously doubt we will see the dude that punched the nurse again.

That leg injury lady in the pink gave me a ton of anxiety while she was being ignored.

Oh I thought we were down to the last episode. Scratch that then. Yeah I was also kind of wondering about that lady. I doubt the lady did it as that would be highly uncharacteristic. The shooter could also just be somebody not seen yet.

This show is CRUSHING it. It's the only thing on that I look forward to every week. This episode wasn't as big of a gut punch as last weeks but it was still pretty damn intense.

heres my theory, this show was in limbo for so long, the inital script was er carter grows up and has a hospital, he invited many er alumni (cuz he's rich) to practice at his er, and of course benton came.
(you can invite and hire anyone you want it seems, er had an arc where alan alda w/ alhzehimers was invited to work by kerry)

benton is supposed to be the black mentor that died during covid, it would be so weighty

this random black dude dieing in the childrens room, eh

Noah Wylie surprised me with how he prepared / handled his breakdown. 'it was like Christmas morning' - he loves doing that stuff and said if anything it was a struggle not to go there when it was less appropriate to do so earlier in the season.

Bad writing as in that one dumb hospital show where a shooter killed just about the entire cast.

God fucking damn so much of this is just so fucking good.

Except the ending. Probably the first thread in this show I don't agree with, but we'll see where it goes I guess. We don't know her offense or history, right? So guess it's hard to see how much latitude the officers could have had in that situation.

I'm glad the shooter was some nobody we haven't met. It being someone we did know would put this a bit more into the regular television formula. Then again they could show a news break and show it's the guy who punched the nurse or something. Think it's better off as a rando though.

Think my favorite bit about this episode is we got the transition to attempt to go back to regular operations as the night staff started to settle in. You normally get the crisis and then a wipe to somewhere else or credits and it's over and we don't get any of that.

Another good episode.

The officers having to arrest her makes sense. She broke the law. Now a judge might find the circumstance and reason, being a strong enough case not to do anything against her, but that might be the end for this season of her character. That is the down side to this formula of showing what happens within a shift or two as opposed to a week. One of the best parts was when Javadi smiled and reacted to Mateo telling her how she rocked the situation. That was such a well acted moment. It is an example of how well the show does with the small things. They help to bring contrast when it is needed. Given how every episode has concluded with a "moment", I am really curious to see how they end it.
