Excellent.Pretty much bombing in the US. Worst opening for a movie opening in 4k+ theaters. Will make just slightly more than predators even though that film's budget was about $50 million less and it came out eight years ago.

This isn't an action movie, this is almost like a kids action/comedy movie that is somehow rated PG. Its just so bizarre. Its like someone wanted to make a Harry Potter, Goosebumps, ET, or something but had to force the Predator into his movie.
Lol who gets paid to write this garbage?
might have been the plan the whole time. horrible movie, lets try to spin some buzz around it. cast wants no part. Munn raises her hand, "i have an idea"Something about the Olivia Mun thing will be their excuse for it bombing, not that it is teribad.
Thanks for the warnings. Got a half off ticket coupon for this and was about to go see it. I was betting on it be AVP levels of entertainment, which is worth at least a few bucks. But a SJW Predator movie can fuck off
damage controldid not read this as i have not seen the movie yet
The Predator Reshoots Explained: Every Cut And Change Fox Made To Shane Black's Movie
The Predator's reshoots completely changed the movie, with Fox totally rewriting Shane Black's original plan for the film. Characters were removed entirely, others had their personalities and deaths completely altered, multiple Predator variants and hybrids were cut, and a whole new ending was introduced.

yep, when Predator came out and me and my friends were talking about it, what we talked about most was arnold getting completely clowned in toe to toe hand combat. at that time Arnold was in his absolute prime. watching him get the shit beat out of him was huge. then you have jesse "the body" totally blindsided. then you get the minigun which at the time was the BFG all gun enthusiasts drooled over. and all it did was nick him. all these guys failed, whether it was individually or when they all worked together as a team. it made no difference. Arnold survived from dumb luck with the mud, then he lucked out at the end when all his intended traps failed to fool the Predator, but he Hail Mary'd that log drop. Predator 2 is still a good movie because they followed that theme. a top cop squad and all the gangsters in 1996 LA were toys to that Predator, even the fucking government spooks failed. hell, even Danny Glover should have died too, but he got a bunch of gimmes and thats how he won.You have to go back and think about what made the original Predator work so well. It was about a bunch of big dick badasses who all thought they were the toughest motherfuckers on the planet suddenly coming face to face with the reality that there are things scarier than them in the world. It also ties into our deep fears of attacks from the unknown (Jungle) in ways we can't see, and in some ways a reaction to how the country grappled with Vietnam. There was almost no explanation of what the Predator was or its motivations.
You can totally see Shane Black trying to deconstruct that and do the exact opposite in many ways for this movie, instead of a group of badasses its a bunch of misfits, a kid, and a lady scientist. Instead of the predator being invisible most of the time its just hanging around and talking more than some of the characters. You get insanely convoluted ideas on why Predators are doing what they are doing and what their future holds. Unfortunately he never stopped to think "... will this be an actual interesting setup?", thats sort of why I made The Last Jedi comparisons in my first post -- it tries too hard to defy audience expectations and throw in twists to go against what you expect from Predator movies, but just like Star Wars is an extremely narrow scope Predator is also extremely narrow if you want to make a good movie.
Predator comes to Earth at some time period, decides to fuck some people up for sport, and gets his shit pushed in by a badass. Thats it. Thats every Predator movie, and the minute you try to go outside that scope you are likely going to fail. I'm sure there are some comic book stories that are expanded and better but any sort of reboot should have started with the basic idea and then used a sequel to go bigger.
