I watched it at the theater this weekend, and I agree that it was a little long and drawn out. However, I'd rather let the director do that if it is his intent instead of the constant editing we hear about because some studio execs think a longer movie isn't going to sell as many tickets. Now in this case I don't think it improved the movie really, but it didn't really detract from it for me either. I wouldn't have minded if every 30 second scene had been cut to 15 seconds though, and shaved 20-30 minutes off the movie.
I loved the movie, but other than the bear scene and the ending fight, I doubt that I'd watch it again for another 10+ years, at least.
