You know what I don't like, all the DLC tied directly to power for Zestiria.
I do not mind cosmetic dlc at all. Only game I've ever bought that for is Guild Wars 2, however this game has 27 packs of DLC. Skit pack, which is free (great), some beginner items which is free (potions and such).
You can also buy food (crafting?) items and two packs of monsters (which I bought since it is content of sorts).
However, the DLCs I am skeptical about are the ones that double speed exp, double gold, double rate of art skill up and directly + level purchases.
What that makes me afraid of is that they artificially increase the time it takes to get them normally, making it a much more grindy experience than what it would be without the DLCs. Not adding anything to the game at all other than it takes 2000 uses of an arte to skill it up, but with the $2 DLC, it takes 1000. Same with gold. Prices can then be inflated to the point where normally you would have to grind 30 extra encounters to afford that special item, but now they can inflate that number to 60, but with the DLC, it is back down to 30. That high level enemy blocking progress to a side quest requires normally 2 hours of grinding, that is now 4, but with DLC, back down to 2 (or just buy levels).
Not that you "need" these DLCs, and certainly not as early I am in the game, but with them added, I find it hard to believe they haven't also artificially inflated the various parts of the game those DLCs affect, to make people consider buying them.
