Just ordered speakers and amp to replace the stock units in my vehicle, as well as a washer and dryer set since our washer just shit the bed at almost exactly 7 years. Any suggestions on an amp kit, or just "get whatever 4ga kit"?

Shit, speaking of washer and dryer, we bought some Sears Kenmore set back in the day, like 1998? Shit still runs tight to this day. And we have 2 boys too so those fuckers run constantly. Fucking 20 yrs old!

My Mom has a Kenmore dryer that I would bet is at least 30 years old. I doubt that the ones you can buy now will last that long.

I have a Maytag washer that's gotta be from the 80s. There isn't a single piece of plastic on the thing and when it gets off level it shakes my entire house. It's a beast that I hope never gets beyond repair.

I think dick sucking should be a feature. After all, men are doing laundry more these days, and women have been able to get off by sitting on the washing machine for decades. We demand equality now!

My $600 pair of Whirlpool I gave to my sister 10 years ago are still running, they're also nearly 20 years old. Apparently a huge shift occurred when Whirlpool purchased Maytag. They started intentionally designing them to fail, or rather, designed with the cheapest components and all it takes is a single point of failure.

Older units are way easier to open up and attempt to service on your own as well. I've been able to completely tear down my Kenmore washer using a spanner wrench and other tools to replace this large gear thing with a pole on it that had worn out. Newer models that have more complicated electronics beyond just a twist knob and some dials are way too much of a pain in the ass to service.

as i said in the previous w/d threads, i wanted zero electronics for my w/d, and the top of the line w/d was only 500+ each (i ended up sales/rebate etc 400 w/ delivery, yada, yada). basically a huge 4.2 impellerless w/d. in leiu of electronics, theres no way to pour in fabric softner... no idea why, there is only a bleach spout, and i have to wait for rinse cycle then manually add bleach.

i found out you can sidestep this by using a downy ball

it releases upon violent rinsing, so no need for electronics.

i don't need my w/d to connect to my router, that is just stupid.

No softener tray is weird, but I didn't have one on my cheaper units either. I've used those downy balls in the past. Really annoying pulling one out that's full of water and dumping it everywhere. Softener is only good for blankets anyway. I hate having sensitive as shit skin, the stuff makes my junk itch if I soften my underoos. It also adds a hydrophobic layer, which is terrible for towels in that it makes them useless....

The $630 Maytag even had a separate tray for Oxyclean.

The first thing I did with these new units is turn the fucking sound off. I don't need all that cheerful beeping in my life.

I guess that's cool if you have a massive house and can't hear your washer/dryer go off. In my little townhouse...pointless.

I’ve been married a total of 18 years between two different women, so I know a thing or two about wives and let me tell you what’s really up. Wives think about laundry all the fucking time.

When it’s not done, they will constantly remind you how lazy you are.
When it’s done, they will constantly remind you that they did it for you.
When you do it yourself, they will constantly remind you that you fucked it up.

Wives want to know that if they are at Starbucks pretending that they’re going to workout, they can remote start a load of laundry that they can put in the dryer when they come home after their 3rd venti.

Added points if they can sign up for a monthly “box” subscription right from the washing machine.

That’s why W/D need WiFi.
