I have a friend who used to work for HP and they could buy printers for like $35. He would get one, use it until the ink ran out, and then give it to a friend or relative and get another one because it was cheaper than buying ink cartridges.
I thought this is what everyone did? The printer industry is all about the margins on ink, not printers. They sell you the printer cheap hoping that you'll refill the ink. It's exactly like a drug dealer giving you the first one free.

In this case though, it's not addictive. So you run out of ink, you just buy another printer at the "get you hooked" low price. I haven't bought ink in forever. That may be because I don't print shit at home anymore though. If I need something personal printed (which is generally boarding passes or my car insurance cards), I do it at work.

Everyone I know(including myself) prints anything they need to print at work. I haven't had a printer hooked up in my home in probably 7 or 8 years.

I bought refilled ink for my new Epson printer once. The printer recognized them as refills and refused to print.
My Epson did the same but some how I convinced to play. Printed like shit. Not sure if it was fuckin' with me or the Costco refills were crap.

Steelseries Diablo 3 mouse. Bought it because it was 30$ and it's a rebranded Sensei which is ~120$ around here.

edit : looking after a nice pic I found it onamazon for 28$. There's no better mouse for that price.

This, but I keep a small b/w laserjet around "just in case".

I end up printing my tax report with that, and maybe 6 other documents per year.

I have a giant color laser printer sitting in my computer room at home. It hasn't been turned on in like two years. I print everything at work. I need to get that thing out of there...

New temporary apartment we just moved into has the lowest shower head I've seen in my life. I'm 6'6" , so I guess all shower heads are too low, but I'm looking for a new shower head to raise it up a bit.

Will be posting in here soon with a new shower head!

I just ordered a sweet new high tech music gadget, a Sony 5-disc CD changer! It matches my flip-phone almost perfectly.

I wish those last two sentences were lies.

We need another thread now, The "Shit I just bought and am waiting for delivery" thread
Think of the hype that would be in that thread, it's nothing but anticipation and excitement... all talk after receiving it will be brought to this thread.. where the disappointment will be unleashed!

In the "shit I bought a long time ago" thread, I have a 10 disc CD changer for a car that I paid $300 for and have never taken out of the box. I bought it around 2001 in the heyday of napster and my plan was to put 10 CDs of burned MP3s (it played MP3s) so I would have 1000 songs in my car. I was not confident in my ability to install it in the car I had just bought without fucking it up so I procrastinated and then the ipod came out the next year. I can't quite bring myself to throw it away even though absolutely no one would want it now so it is still sitting in it's original packaging in my downstairs closet. Not the best $300 I ever spent.
