I picked up my 5-disc changer today, and I got a bonus surprise. I can record directly from the changer to a USB device!

Gravy is slowly rolling into the 21st century.

That CD shelf you bought 15 years ago is going to finally pay off Gravy!

All of my CDs are in empty CD-R spindles. Cases be damned, they were taking up too much room, they all got stuffed into boxes and buried in the garage. I still have probably 500-ish music CDs that I have no plans to ever get rid of.

My CDs are mostly gone except for like 12 of them that I have in a pile in my car where they are not in cases and pretty much scratched to the point where they are unplayable. I should throw them away because every once in a while I try to play one and then remember that they are all fucked up.

This CD player is making me very happy. The only 'glitch' so far is that when I'm recording the CD's to the Walkman, it doesn't record the album or song title names. And I need some kind of small usb to audio jack adapter for my car.

I bought my car in 2010. It has a 5 disc changer in the dash. It's had the same 5 discs in there since 2010, I think.

I still listen to music on a reel to reel. True story. Everyone here would probably be shocked at the quality. Plus I order up a box of tapes for $5 off ebay and listen to whatever is on them. I get some odd stuff but the recordings of music off the radio live during the 60's and 70's is worth it, plus all the news/commercials and such.

I only listen to music on phonograph cylinders that have only been handled by locally raised vegans wearing artisinal gluten free fungus gloves grown in all natural surroundings.

I'm getting rid of my rotary dial phone next week!
I put one in my kitchen, the wall mounted kind. Ergonomically, it is still the best with a real speaker for your ear and a real microphone to speak into and a real handle between the two. Very comfortable and it sounds good. Pressing "1" for English is a problem.

I didn't even know rotary phones would work with the phone system nowdays. Seems like we had to replace a few in the shop at work at one point because they were no longer compatible. They had been out there since probably the late 60's.

Nothing terribly exciting.

Logitech G710 mechanical keyboard to replace my Coolermaster Quickfire Pro whatever. It uses the same Cherry MX Browns, but this has O-ring dampers on it...kind of a cool idea; really makes the unit feel much higher quality. It's a full size backlit unit. I got tired of the extra numpad not always registering alt codes with my old 10keyless, so I got this.

The backlit is kind of cool; it has 4 different brightness settings, but none of them illuminate shift symbols unless on the retina-searing highest level. Dumb. Also dumb is the WASD and arrow keys have their own brightness settings. Other than that, it's really good. Much better quality than the CM Quickfire I have. It also has 6 macro keys and 3 macro key switchers. Whatever.

I also grabbed a Logitech Proteus Core G502. It's a modern cross between the G400 and the G5 with a sensor that is actually accurate. Dumb name, really good mouse. It replaced my Corsair V65 which has really, really shit ergonomics. All it needs is a grippier scroll wheel to be perfect.

With both products, they are looking to undo 5+years of iffy quality, and so far...so good. Every Logitech "gaming" keyboard I used in the past felt like overpriced shit...this one is actually decent all around.
