The Lighthouse, The Rover, even High Life he shows incredible range (although that movie is weird as fuck - I highly recommend on heavy THC).

Then Tenet showed he can actually pull off "action" as well. I've been saying it since he was cast - assuming the script isn't dogshit, Pattinson is going to crush it as Bats and prove the haters wrong.
Forgot about High Life. Another great example of his acting chops. Not necessarily a wonderful movie, but the fact that he signs up for those sorts of pictures I think shows he cares about his craft.

Other than the Twilight movies, I don't think I've been displeased with his performance in anything I've seen him in, maybe that's why he's picking all these different vehicles. Trying not to get typecast.

I think the best thing for DC would be to move away from a plan. Everyone has this dumb ass mindset now that every movie franchise needs to follow what Marvel did. If DC just puts out good movies that dont have really any overarching story line than that would probably work well for them.
No.

Marvel made more money with a plan and C tier characters than anyone else did with A list characters doing no-plan movies.

Obviously a plan is the way to do it, but you need a good plan. It can (and has) been done.

Maybe if DC went and started a new cinematic universe with some basic characters (not their A-listers) and then added them in later culminating in a serious villain confrontation (perhaps the Anti-Monitor) it would work. Save Darjseid for a lot later.

But DC wants to go straight to the 2B+ films without making any foundations, and people won't care enough to see such films, so now here we are.

i think that's what he meant by making good movies instead of focusing on some "plan."

you can plan all the cinematic universes you want, but if you don't make movies that people want to see, it doesn't matter. when marvel made Ironman, they obviously had a plan, but the reason the plan worked is because Ironman was a badass movie. if the incredible hulk was the first movie in "the plan" things would be very different, i think.

Marvel also invested a considerable amount of time in ensuring that there is a similar aesthetic and a similar tone throughout all movies.

Any Marvel movie is more similar in tone to GoTG despite having various directors, than Gunn's Suicide Squad to his GoTG.

DC is just like "what the fuck ever, as long as it makes money". DC movies look and feel wildly different from each other

The lawsuit also claims that Euringer attended a pedophile-themed party, hosted by Marvel director James Gunn.

Suicide Squad Director Named in Underage Sex Assault Lawsuit for Hosting Pedophile-Themed Party
While disgusting, and it is disgusting, a party theme in and of itself isn't criminal. And we know all about this from the Twitter deep dive a while back. "To my knowledge" Gunn hasnt ever been accused of actual wrong doing has he? Just being a total douche bag who thinks pedo shit was "edgy and funny".

James Euringer, lead singer of Mindless Self Indulgence, has been accused of sexual battery of a minor, according to a lawsuit filed in the New York Supreme Court .

this dinger is 51 NOW, this happened over 35years ago when AIDS was scaring ppl

In the lawsuit, the anonymous woman claims that she had a sexual relationship with Euringer from January of 1997 to June of 1999, at which time she was a minor.

As reported by Rolling Stone, the relationship began when she was just 15 and Euringer was 17.

The vast majority of pedos were abused as kids. So was he, apparently. So maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Not enough evidence to tell, but a pattern exists. And that's enough in this day and age to cause quite the ruckus.

She was 15, he was 27.
The term (sic) is used when you are quoting someone and their quote includes incorrect or misspelled words. It's used to show that you didn't make the mistake but it is part of the actual quote.

Thus Lanx didn't write the age wrong, who he quoted did.

The MCU is vastly better than other comic book movies, and it was because they had a plan and because their movies were well made.

Not having a plan will not result in replicating the success of the MCU's 20+ high grossing movies. Having a plan probably won't either, but no one has duplicated the MCU's success without one in the many decades of movie production, so having one is probably key, if you can do it right.

I think the mcu came at the perfect time. It was sort of a spectacle in motion. But people have seen that now and I think people are burned out on the kind of commitment that a cinematic universe brings.

I think it's one thing to make a movie and a sequel or two, it's another thing to tell people you are making a cinematic universe, knowing what the MCU has done. You are telling people they have to sign off on 10 years of stuff. On paper it sounds good but in reality we end up with cookie cutter story design and different color sky beams

Book series have already been milked dry, doing things one by one balloons budgets out of control i.e. Bond, and streaming sites are already chopping series off at the knees by season 3. DC execs are not going to find quality writers to outline a decade of a universe.
