Doc, I think it's time for euthanasia. I know killing a patient may go against the hippocratic oath you took, but it seems to be the only viable option now.

Oh look, this is tanoomba's very first death threat on the internet. Time for him to set up his patreon.

AngryGerbil: "I'll admit it was a slow creep.

I remember my Dad and older brother warning me about the potential disaster of the concept of 'Political Correctness' and how it is a direct conduit to potential secular brainwashing. It didn't make sense to me for many years."

Ummm... so are you saying we've reached the point where political correctness is "a disaster" or that we're still approaching that point? If it's the former, then I'd love to know what disastrous effects political correctness has wrought upon our society, and if it's the latter then that's just people complaining about shit they don't like, like they've been doing for years and years.

I mean, I've read comments about "thought policing" and shit, but a blue-haired land whale on Twitter has no say in what you're allowed to think. Just seems like a lot of busybodyism to me.

I do think it's pretty interesting that when someone posts hard data about how commonplace ACTUAL rape is (at least in one unnamed college), that the initial knee-jerk reaction is "Well how is 'incapacitated' defined?", "Wait, they're including ATTEMPTED rape too?", and of course, the delightful gem:

"Wow girls who get drunk regret their actions at some small % rate. News at fucking 11 guyz!"

and the equally lovely:

"Teenage girls are pressured into sex by teenage boys, sometimes even forcefully? WELL GOSH. YOU DON'T SAY."

The best part is people who write comments like this, while openly mocking terms like "rape culture" (which I admit I'm not a fan of) are the reason those terms exist.

You think that's the source of political correctness?

Fana: "You think that's the source of political correctness?"

Of course not, but that's the main source of your bitching and whining.

Cad: "But that has nothing to do with your question really. This sexual interaction is what adults do. They have to learn sometime. They do some regrettable things, so what. Having a dick in you is not the worst experience of your life, despite your lesbian status. You are not harmed by that dick. Get the fuck over it."

I know that nobody's really interested in the whole story regarding Emma "Mattress Girl" Sulkowicz, but I was genuinely surprised to find out her side of the story is actually pretty feasible:

http://jezebel.com/how-to-make-an-accused-rapist-look-good-1682583526

I mean, I'm not going to say that she was definitely raped, but it's nowhere near as difficult to believe as many posters here are eager to imply. If you don't feel like reading the whole article, skip to the part where Emma includes annotations explaining the context of the Facebook exchanges that occurred between her and the accused after the alleged rape.

Wormie: "Its "feels" data because the people reporting it view it based on their feelings about the event. I bet if the women who reported being "raped" were "raped" by men who turned out to be better looking in the morning instead of worse looking, these "rapes" would not be reported as rapes."

Holy shit, Wormie. You're disgusting.

Cad: "There's no real incentive for Emma Sulcowicz to carry a mattress around and accuse that guy of forcible rape either. But there she is. She probably honestly believes she was raped because in hindsight she wouldn't have consented if she knew he didn't care about her."

Actually, if she HAD been raped (which is a real possibility), then that's excellent incentive for every action she has taken. You're assuming it's a clear-cut case of "crazy woman making up story", which is possible but not the only (or even most likely) scenario.
