One of my favorite scenes of many is when Herc and Carver take Bodie in for questioning. Bodie has a smart mouth and the two cops beat the crap out of him. Once they get to the station, the three play a game of pool. Bodie covered in lumps and bruises shoots pool like the beating never happened.

Carve and Herc come to realize that Bodie is tough and that Bodie is a lot like they are. Bodie would make a good cop if the circumstances where different.

Such a great show. I want to rewatch The Wire, but I don't even have time to keep up on current shit.

Bodie's pretty much my favorite character in the entire run of the show.

You're a soldier, Bodie.
Damn right.

Wakandan just tryin to live. Ain't no one should live on their knees.

My favourite Bodie scene : "this game ie rigged man, it's like we're the little bitches on the chess board." That scene shows how they ultimately respect each others, not for what they are, but for what they do. When McNulty says "you're a soldier Bodie" he just realizes the guy, while being a lowlife corner drug dealer in Baltimore, lives up by a code, morales (even twisted) and rules. A pawn. A soldier, the one taking hits. Bodie knows McN just wants someone to snitch, that's why he states he ain't no snitch. By ultimately snitching (or hinting) he's not a sellout, he just seeks for balance, like a knight would. He's just stepping up from soldier to chevalier. That's so powerful stuff righ here.

The fact that Marlo Stansfield makes it through the series unscathed really rustles my jimmies.

Why wouldn't he, though? He was just as hard as Avon ever was, and probably just as smart as Stringer. Dude was a pragmatist. Marlo was such a badass.

Marlo represented the current generation's thug. He follows no code. He respects no game.

I used to think that, now I think it is just perspective. He obviously cares about his inner circle. Sure, he put down Little Kevin, but that isn't really that much different than Stringer and Wallace.

Marlo would put you down if you had anti-marlo thoughts.

He killed that poor security guard just for having a man-to-man.

Marlo followed a code. The code was named M.A.R.L.O , and it had 1 rule: M)arlo makes the rules.

He was as hard as Avon and he was smarter than Stringer. And Marlo walking away unscathed is the tragedy of it all.
