They need to scrap modern WoW along with Titan and go back to real MMOs again. No social media, FB integration shit. Just awesome immersion and difficult, massively multiplayer gameplay. They have their casual cash cow for the retards; now makerealfucking games.
Uhm, WoW has the hardest gameplay of all MMOs. Nothing even comes close.

Oh, right, you want to have to farm forty 1% drops off multi-hour rare spawns in order to be able to even access the content at all. I'm not sure that counts as "hard," though.

Every other MMO in existence either has such a timesink implemented or has all their content beat within 24 hours of being released. WoW is the only game where you can go in basically immediately and it still takes weeks for the stuff to be beaten.

Just saw this. Tried to change it but you gave me a JPEG file and it isn't accepted. It says it needs a PNG file? Try again

PM me the avatar you want me to change it too.
Do you seriously not know how to open a jpeg and save it as png? Lol. How is this even possible.

Anyways, here you go:http://i.imgur.com/fLCak6I.png

The only reason WoW content is even beaten within weeks is because of how many reps you can get in per hour. Eventually RNG and FOTM class stacking will favor you enough to beat an encounter that you really don't have the gear for.

If they want to be assholes they could always bring back ICC's 50 wipe limit, or Vael's timer.

Wildstar had 6 classes with exactly 1 weapon set each.

That right there was enough to make me completely uninterested in the game.

What I'm gathering from all of this thread is that Pantheon > Titan.

Don't know how many times you have to be tomd this but raid contentbin WoW is hard, a lot harder than EQ ever was. Do they have super casual versions, yes, but what is the problem with that? It lets a large amountnof the plaerbasr see content they are paying to be developed.

We also all know you are autistic, so social integration would seem terrible to you no matter how it was going to be done.

I'd really like some economist boil down how much money it takes to run a MMO compared to the budget. I really think the next great MMO is going to be some kickstarted super basic MMO that doesn't expect to make billions of dollars and is happy with a small niche population. Of course we won't get celebrity voice overs and insane graphics mini pets and shit but the core game play and story and content is all lovingly crafted by a small company that genuinely wants to make a MMO world and is not just churning out something to make a profit.

Game sounded like shit. What a waste of money and time. Hopefully they learned some cool things they can port into other games. I'd take a wow 2 if it was somewhere between eq and vanilla wow...

Sounded like the game was designed to make money rather than be design to be fun. Not sure what those people were thinking.

Probably that they wanted to make more money. It has to rub ActiBlizz wrong that the whole LoL / DOTA business grew out of a open source mod to their game and there are only soft-money revenue streams for Diablo and Starcraft.

For wow it was overa 300% profit margin annually, which is pretty insane.

But yeah, a kickstarted 25 million dollar MMO that brought in 100mil a year could happen... maybe... I dunno. Ask Brad about it, I'm sure he's an expert.

They were thinking the same thing the guys with the RMAH idea were thinking.

"These retarded fucking aspies will go for it. You know they will."

Literal turd in a box.

This could turn out to be genius in the long run. Instead of trying to attract a new player base or even borrow from their current (WoW) by releasing Titan, they could put a collection of teams together and try to maintain or grow their WoW player base. Just imagine if EQ had a team dedicated to simply revitalizing the nostalgia while another team is stopping out bugs/exploits, and a third team and working on the future. I'm not a big fan of sequels anyway. I realize you have to eventually move on and jump into a modern engine to get with the times but I honestly think that attempting to change or re-skin MMO's has done more harm than good.

Honestly, I can't think of the games that has essentially just kept their central gameplay/features and have done fine. I think most frustration with games have been when they become a shadow of it's own existence. Just thinking out loud... not saying they're going to grow to 20 million but suggesting this could work out perfectly fine instead of it appearing to be some sign of doom and gloom for Blizzard.

I think all it really means is that Blizzard is officially not a video game company anymore. It is specifically a MMO company. And even more specifically it istheMMO company.

All they've made for the past 10 years are poorly received sequels and vanity pets and expansions for their MMO.

Blizzard is a success story. The crew that wanted to get rich making good games... they... made a couple of good games and... got rich. But if you're looking for anything fresh, new, innovative, or probably even interesting from whoever has been hired to man the ship since it's probably just looking in the wrong place.

With the success of Hearthstone, I'm hopeful that Blizzard will branch out into completely different genres. They set up a small team, told them to make a small game, and it became a huge hit. Now that they know the model works, I could see them doing similar things like an internal game jam (if they don't already do one). It's what Blizzard does best, take a small idea and polish the crap out of it. Hearthstone's development was fairly slow, but I believe they've grown their team and will likely be showing off the next expansion at Blizzcon.

In other words, I'm kinda glad that Titan was cancelled and I'm hopeful that they want to branch out beyond being "another MMO company".

As good as this sounds, I don't think this is accurate.

I wonder if the problem is nobody working on Titan is as hungry or fresh as the team for WOW composed of hard core EQ players who had a vision of what they wanted. Problem being making a game that really appeals to us, here.

I'm hoping there's a cool VR based Oculus MMO in the future that might propel the genre forward. It's pretty tired and stale right now.
