So I feel a little bit like I'm trying to cross over to the other side of the tracks and if I'm not careful I might get jumped...

But I'm a usenet guy, but it's pretty much impossible to find older tv shows on usenets and so I'm turning to torrents for help.

I'm trying to find Game of Thrones season 1 and 2. Quality doesn't matter as long as it's not massive blu ray 1080p rips. So not even a very old show but due to dmca take down notices the stuff doesn't stay up long, ie: hours, on usenets.

I do not have any account for any private trackers, and pirate bay is the only tracker I am familiar with. Problem is, I don't feel like getting a notice in the mail from my ISP because they caught me leeching on an HBO torrent.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not against paying for a seed box, but I'm not entirely sure how that works but seeing as I'm looking for a few gigs at least I don't mind uploading a few gigs in return.

IPtorrents needs to be careful they don't get shut down.

They used to give good deals on there pricing, but now they are just jews about it.
When you start to collect that much money, everyone starts to notice.

Donating money is just a scam.

They kick you off if you don't keep your ratio up, most people are too lazy to seed torrents off there box.
They know this...

They used to have fairly cheap deals ,and many sales that were 4x the amount donated.
In the last year since they have gotten allot more members there prices have gone up.

They have sub plans now etc, and they put in that new zap it shit.

Don't be naive, these guys are making allot of money.

It's exactly like micro transactions imho, yes the service is free, and you can keep your ratio up by playing the torrent share game. Most people won't bother.

I've done true donations when Iptorrent was actually struggling years ago, I know what they are doing now is definitely catching peoples attention.

They aren't the only ones doing this. And as seedboxes become more prevalent, adding "avenues" for the average guy to get ahead are becoming more popular.

Switch to websites that are ratioless if you can. They're becoming more popular. And it strikes a good balance for everyone involved--both those with and without seedboxes.

Not even remotely difficult to maintain ratio on IPT. Sitting on like an 18 ratio and like 6k bonus points and I don't have a seedbox. That said I'm done giving out invites here since some of you fucks can't seem to manage even 1.0 ratios.

Well, lucky me the GoT seasons 1 & 2 were on Freeleach. I assume this means that it doesn't count against me, but I can let it upload for as long as I want to gain ratio?

Seeing as I've just now become an IPT minutes ago, any tips to share for gaining ratio? I'd prefer to be a good member! Gotta admit, it's pretty slick. No worries if it's going to be available, or not available, and the speeds are decent. Given it's a private torrent, do I have to worry about hiding my IP address with Peer Guardian, or something similar?

imo you are in more danger from IPT nowadays than piratebay. For IPT you either need to donate (paper trail will be kept forever for the day they are busted, not IF but WHEN) or you need to seed forever (risk of ISP notice) or get hit with hit and runs. yeah, you downloaded that freeleech in 15 minutes but guess what, it'll be a HnR until you seed back to 1:1, zap it, or donate. yeah you can accumulate bonus points by seeding 10 tiny torrents but its a tiny amount per day.

imo piratebay is fine for everything, if you follow the simple rule: as soon as the torrent is done, remote it from your torrent client. HBO etc can only find you while you are seeding/downloading. They aren't monitoring that shit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - it would be impossible with millions of torrents. There is no centralized PirateBay tracker, its all peer to peer so once you are off the list you are gone. The big advantage of IPT is of course speed, piratebay seed speeds vary greatly from 100mb/s down to 20k/s whereas IPT will pretty much always max out your connection. Also a ton of trojans/viruses get onto piratebay, so don't ever run any apps or shit you download there.

the trick is to find smaller private trackers that have lax rules - btn is awesome for TV shows, basically seed for 24 hours (episode) or 5 days (series) and then you are done, doesn't matter how much you seed just those time requirements. getting an invite is hard though. there are similar sites for movies, comics, games, etc but IPT is simply the biggest, which is a good reason not to depend on it too much.

Lesson learned, because Sickbeard already moved all the files as soon as they were done downloading, or even before, I can't tell. Going to have to build up some credit or something to try and Zap it.

Easiest way to not worry about ISP notices and such is to get yourself a VPN. I use PrivateInternetAccess for something like $40 a year, and they don't keep any records of what your traffic consists of, so even if someone tried to nail you by getting a court order, there is nothing for them to get. For less than $4 a month, you can't beat it. No need to worry about PeerGuardian working or not, no complicated shit to use, no data limits, and awesome speeds. Seriously, use it not only for torrents but Usenet as well, because they're starting to crack down on that as well, so you might as well be protected ahead of time for that low price.

As far as getting ratio on IPT, find some mediocre sized freeleech porn, a couple of gigs perhaps, depending upon how much storage space you have, and just let those seed endlessly. Every once in awhile if they stop giving you ratio, swap them out for newer ones, but sort of rotate them, because you keep gaining bonus points regardless of anyone actually leeching from you or not, so you don't want to just kill off all your bonus point generation all at once.

Honestly, ratio at IPT is the easiest thing you will ever do. When people say you have to be retarded to screw it up, that's almost the truth. Once you realize how it works, there is no reason to ever worry about it once you get a little built up. You should never have to donate, never have to worry if you have points to zap hit 'n' runs, never worry about going on ratio watch. It is stupidly easy even with their new system.

And if you get a VPN for cheap, you're about as protected as you'll ever need to be too. A seedbox will accomplish the same thing, but even with a seedbox, since you use newsgroups you're still at risk, so get the VPN anyway. I only recently got a seedbox and still intend to keep my VPN when it renews.

EDIT: That being said, the talk about IPT getting too big is valid, so while you build up the stupidly easy to get ratio there, be on the lookout for invites to other trackers like spronk mentioned. I've been careful to build up ratio here and there with a bunch of others, just in case, so if IPT does go down I'll still be just fine. But practice your good habits at IPT first, and then use and abuse it like there's no tomorrow once you've got yourself essentially unlimited ratio and some backup sites. I've literally got so many bonus points and upload credit that I could download without seeding for probably a year straight, nonstop. And 99% of that was without a seedbox. Hell, I purposely stop most of my IPT torrents on my seedbox now because I don't want to waste any of my upload traffic on a site that I don't need it. I'd rather leave that bandwidth open in case my torrent from somewhere actually difficult, like Torrentleech or PassThePopcorn, wants to seed. I don't want my IPT uploads to block it, so I just stop them and zap them most of the time anyway, that's how stupidly easy ratio is there. And since I don't want to download stuff that might impact my ratio from the good backup sites, almost everything I get comes from IPT now, because I'd hate to leave all that cash sitting in the bank and unspent, so to speak, when the bank goes under.

PTP invites have been closed to user classes for a good amount of time. Your best bet is to get an invite through other trackers PU+ forums from a staff member.

Technically speaking, only getting to 1:1 will avoid it. But if you just seed to 50 bonus points and zap it (follow their instructions, people seem to have problems but I never have), it is gone just the same.

I do it all the time, so don't worry too much about H&Rs as long as you have bonus points. As I said above, I'll download something huge (Big 4 concert in Sofia, for example, like 35GB) that I want, but know isn't going to get a lot of traffic from IPT. As soon as it is done, I stop the torrent and delete it from my client. I'm never going to get 35GB seeded back on something several years old and that size, so I don't want it using up ANY of my bandwidth. Instead, in a few hours/day it shows up as a H&R, and I zap it for 50 points, just like I'd have to do with a 1 MB file I didn't seed.

The key to IPT is to just leave shit seeding for weeks and months if you can, and before you know it you'll have thousands of bonus points and plenty of upload credit. Once you get there, it almost feels like cheating because you literally don't have to do anything more than zap shit periodically.

So how many seeds do you usually have running at any given moment? I've got 5, but only 1 of those is really seeing any upload traffic, which is fine.

10 seeds is the max that will count towards bonus points. so download 10 tiny comics, books, android apps, mp3 songs, or whatever else that is small and you don't give a shit about leaving seeded and then leave it seeded forever. you will get something like 20 points a day (not sure) but do it for 6 months and you are looking at thousands of points, and it only costs you 50 points to zap every big ass torrent you zap.

if its not freeleech you will still have issues with your upload/download ratios, so maybe download a new freeleech mega porn file and keep it as part of your 10 seed to build up massive upload too. I have something like 80 gigs downloaded and 4 terabytes uploaded due to freeleech porn. i avoid keeping anything seeded that someone (who is lawsuit happy) would really care about, like screeners or bluray movie rips or microsoft software.
