i watched Little House, Duke Boys and Love Boat as a kid. i loved those shows. was nothing boring about them. though, Love Boat was really corny. i still watched it because it was on before Fantasy Island and had the actors from my other favorite TV shows make cameo appearances. i also had a crush on the cute blonde hostess.

anyway, The high chaparral is about a big rancher, big john on the mexican boarder in apache territory. in like the 1st episode, his wife is killed by the indians, large rancher on the mexican side comes to help. they make a deal and part of it, big john has to married the mexican rancher daughter. in the show, she is supposed to be 30 years younger than him. don't know if it gives their age, but guess it was to be 50's/20's. irl, he was 56 and she was 36.
