Right, but it's the blatant lying and claiming the opposite. "oh woe is the single me" aspect. most nerds don't need that. I bet 90%+ would still be fawning and assuming she was single even if she simply never brought up her love life. Hell when I was 19 in EQ and a "girl" simply talked to me in a friendly manner, I thought they liked me. I never sent/offered to send money but it still gave my mind that impression I had a chance.
I'm sure Amouranth would still have zero problems swimming in cash even if she just did the hair twirling usual bullshit and never bringing up being single or having a BF/Husband.
Hell I think STPeach does exactly this in the few minutes I've tried to stomach her stream (she's a total butterface to me, also) She's pretty blatantly had a male friend/boyfriend on stream and people still throw money at her for attention.

Well husband tends to act as a repellent, but boyfriend usually don't with some of the thirtiest motherfuckers out there. They think they can save the princess from the clutch of the evil "bad boy", that they'll see how much of a nice guy(unironically nice guy) they are and they'll break up and shit.
It's a bit like idols in Japan who can't have relationship since that basically kills their careers. They have to appear pure and available for the crazy fans. The fans spend thousands buying CDs(yes CDs in 2018) to get tickets for hand shaking events and shit. Shit's even scarier since a lot of the those idols are still teens and shit.
