Most episodes have a few laughs sprinkled in, but it is more like a light comedy dystopian future, hard to try and pigeonhole it as a straight comedy or anything serious.
The puberty patch gave me some chuckles as well.

How the fuck does anyone in a show like this not constantly address the fact that they're all digital copies and their original selves are dead as fuck?
It's not their consciousness though. It's a copy. Why would anyone willingly kill themselves so their clone can enjoy/suffer a digital afterlife?They do address that. The uploaded person can essentially be treated as property and they apparently have little rights. The upside is their consciousness can live "forever" and the prospect of downloads means eternal life via clone transfer
