Was excellent tonight lol at the fight scene with his wife and him, she kicked his ass.

You could see her 5 black belts training in it lol.
We gonna do this all season? Most of the posters in this thread would beat that woman's ass in a fight. It's a fucking choreographed scene. Jesus.

Loved them at the Monastery. Didn't need the hamfisted blacksmith scene to drive home that the Earl a bad person.

We finally got some rape. Took way too long I say!

I know it is but saying cause she is so in shape and had 6 martial arts by age 21 and 5 different black belts degree's as well at age 21 is doing her injustice.
Yes we all agree she is smoking hot, most agree she can act as well, was she has done bunch of movies as well as tv shows.

Yah they can give women training yes, they can chorograph but its hell of alot easier on them to have someone that fighting comes Natural due to her heavy training and many styles.

She even talks about it in interviews, before she broke into Modeling then acting she was in alot of martial art tourneyments when she had all her schools.

She speaks 4 languages as well.

How can anyone like Pawn Stars anymore? I mean, yea it was kind of interesting at first, seeing the items that come in. But the main "character" Rick or whatever his name is, is so unlikeable and uninteresting, its hard to watch anymore. Combine that with his propensity to shit on everything and the equal dullness of his big fat son, and his small fat sidekick friend makes the show kind of bad. I mean, they made spinoff shows of the dudes that the Pawn Shop owner calls in to asses his customers items.

Thats either a nod to the success of the show, or an indictment on how bad the main star is. Or maybe both.

aleksei everyone here knows that the wife is hot and we all know next week's show is online. i may be old but i can remember what was said a week ago....... multiple times.

i liked this weeks show a lot. i never would have imagined they killed the blacksmith. a blacksmith is the most important job in town, it takes years and years to train a new one. the blacksmith should have told the earl to go fuck himself and he couldnt do anything to him.

I would assume there was more then one blacksmith...or yes, they was a pretty stupid move...or a really good move in showing just how big of an asshole he really is I guess.

Depends on how you want to look at it.

Yeah, I thought the killing of the blacksmith was a fine kind of framing moment for the jarl, as it wasn't one of his henchmen like the other poor bastard was.

Though if he is willing to kill the blacksmith so brazenly in the middle of town over this, why not just go kill Ragnar's wife and kids? Same for everyone else he knows who went.

Oh, right, he doesn't think they're going to be coming back! And killing the blacksmith sends a message to those thinking of opposing him.

Killing the blacksmith also sends a message that there wont be any new horse shoes, plow blades, axe blades, hammers, knives or nails. Unless they have a backup blacksmith somewhere of course. this one didnt even seem to have an apprentice

If that was indeed the only blacksmith that was unbelievably stupid, but would go to show how far the jarl's crazy goes. Then again, they're Vikings, it just puts a higher priority on looting metalwork and weapons when they raid people I guess.

Thats true. The vikings died out because they didnt want to adapt to different foods during the little ice age. So yeah maybe they arent so bright.

And again, I'm sure they had more then one blacksmith in town. No way does a warrior society have only one person making the weapons to outfit them.

....

That made me laugh out loud.

I don't even.

Do they state that in the show? On the History channel? Please say they do. My ancestors were "vikings" (read: farmers from Norway who may or may not have participated in raiding). Vikings were basically farmers turned pirate. "Vikingr" is Pirate in the Norse language. They didn't "die out", they just stopped raiding. Viking era ended when the raids did. Raids ended due to a change in mentality, not because people died. Minority of the population did it. Somalia would be an example today, the pirates are Vikingr and they are nearly all we hear about, but they hardly represent a large portion of the Somalian population.

Downloading the show now, expecting hilarity.

I don't care how much it costs them, they MUST play the immigrant song at some point during this show.

THEY GOD DAMN MUST.

Seems like it would be a season finale sort of thing, tho

Of course they didn't say that in the show. Pay no attention to the Astro behind the curtain.

Don't expect hilarity, it's a good show.

I swear I didnt pull that out of my ass. It was on the history channel doc, " Little ice age, big chill". It basically said the norse in the north starved out because they were racist against inuits and didnt want to change their hunting ways to be more like them.

I'm really enjoying this show so far. Ragnar was kind of annoying at first, with his little smirk and odd intonation, as if he's always asking a question. But 3 episodes in I definitely think that kind of portrayal is better than the typical brutish viking. He gives off this sort of child-like inquisitiveness that would be necessary to go exploring and take the risks that he does.

I like that they don't hold any punches. Kill random people who don't deserve it? Sure, why not? I thought for sure they'd draw out the shit in their village for a few episodes, but fuck that. They got this shit moving!

My only issue is Ragnar and the monk. Seems like he should've just killed him. If this were any other show, I'd say that'll make for some kind of conflict. But so far, this show has done well without made up bullshit (the head guy notwithstanding).

Yeah I have to admit I was surprised at how quickly and carelessly the vikings murdered the monks. I was expecting there to be at least some debate between Ragnar and his crew about it. I figured History Channel would try to "humanize" the vikings to make them better heroes for the story. I'm glad they stuck to the historical truth.

I actually like the interaction between Ragnar and the monk. It's been clear from the first episode that what Ragnar cares about above all else is knowledge (he states as much, even). So it's believable that he'd spare this foreigner who speaks his language because it serves as an incredibly useful and interesting source of knowledge.
