Yes, you can unplug the light houses. They should quickly resync when plugged back in. To adjust IPD, bring up the Steam VR menu with the menu button on your controller, then turn the knob back and forth a couple times. You should see the setting readout in the lower part of your FOV.

That's what I was doing. Maybe I just didn't notice the numbers pop up. I'll play with my knob some more when I get home later.

So... since I am a huge Fallout nerd, the Fallout 4 VR edition gave me a massive boner. Should I jump the gun and get a Vive+1080 now, or hold off waiting for a GTX 1080Ti and maybe a 2nd Generation Vive if that is on the horizon?

If you're waiting for Fallout VR, I would just wait. There may be improvements made to the headset by then.

That's not just a fat guy problem! It really gets hot on my face after a while as well. Just a more breathable pad would probably help. The ones that come with it let no air in.

Holding off then, thanks for the advice. (Also I keep having an irrational hope for Fallout VR to come to the PS VR...).

Probably a ways off but yeah, they're releasing a fully VR compatible Fallout 4 and Doom.

If you want to play fallout 4 VR, keep tabs on

instead of an official release of fallout 4 VR. I don't know if Bethesda is planning on adding official VR support to FO4 beyond the short tech demo they had. But if they do it will probably be a year+ away.
Well they said a 2017 release for a VR edition of Fallout 4, but then again we all know that is subject to change.... Also, not intrested in OR, will go with Vive and/or PS VR.

I hope they come out with similar controllers for the Vive, as everything I'm reading about the Touch controllers is very good. I don't mind the Vive controllers, but the button layout isn't very good.

I would be more happy with them updating the Vive controllers so we could remap buttons Steam controller style.

The military spends $80,000 on a sandwich, color me surprised if they couldn't produce something as good as the Vive for that.

I'm gonna go play Audioshield for a bit and then drive to work. When I'm bleeding to death on the side of the road in an hour, I'll be sure to think back about how right the Internet was about it.

Tried PSVR, nice screen but really reinforces my excitement for anther generation of hardware with higher resolutions. Thought Eve got kinda muddy, Neo/Scorpio/etc won't fix that.
