It's been really nice here too except for random tiny bad ass thunderstorms attacking out of nowhere. Here's one right before it hit me earlier this evening.

Headed to July and we've barely had any days break 90F all year. We're scheduled to get rain this week and end our drought since May but we're still incredibly mild temperature ranges.

Could we get the wettest/coolest July ever this year? The lawns would appreciate it.

my weather forecasts differ from the weather services. weather channel says its going to thunderstorm here from thursday to tuesday. whatever weather Alexa uses, it says no rain cept maybe saturday. no rain today forecast, but it looks like its going to pour any minute now.

So I guess they really are cloud seeding to bring more moisture to the Western US.

Going to be hilarious come winter time when the year round snowfields start turning into actual glaciers after a couple years of it.

Texas’ power grid operator asked residents Tuesday to voluntarily cut back on electricity due to anticipated record demand on the system as a heat wave kept large swaths of the state and southern U.S. in triple-digit temperatures.
I always get a good laugh out of these articles.

Never once, fucking ever, has someone said "hey its hot as balls outside but lets turn off the AC because someone else might need the electricity"

Got crushed with burst rain, inside of the DC beltway seems to be getting it now. Pool went to the very edge but it finally tapered off. Their forecast this morning was 0.5" for the day and we are sitting at 5.48" from the nearest reporting station.

0.23" from overnight showers
+1.59" from 1:45 to 3:00
+3.51" from 3:00 to 3:50

fuck. i guess we're getting that in NJ too. i wonder if this fucked up rain and humidity has anything to do with that gay Canada wildfire shit.

Vegas ties the record, 290 days without hitting 100 degrees. Should cross that mark in the next few days, 110+ in the forecast for next Monday.

One of the hottest places in the DFW area today has a 125 degree heat index:

That's a crazy 'feels like' temp, genuinely sweltering. I can handle record daytime highs though, it's really hot though when the lows don't go past the mid-80s, and it's still like 100 degrees at 1am that the heat bothers me. A/C doesn't really get a break, power bill approaches $600 for the month, etc.

Even not hitting 100, we've been in the upper 90s pretty much the whole month with minor exceptions (think we got 5 hours of morning rain a few weeks back) and it's costly.

At least it's a dry heat. 94 and feels like 94. Next week looks like it'll return to 'normal' and then we see what July has in store.

I lived in a place that had a heat wave, 3 months of no less than 90F weather. 90F at night if you were lucky. During the day it was 105F+ all day every day. Everything was heat soaked so nothing cooled off. AC ran all day and night. The last month was a grind day in and day out. Not a single cloud in the sky and not a drop of rain. Sun bleached the blue out of the sky.

Pure misery.
