I am just south of you Ole Bass, and they have us in the 6-10 range which is still a major event for this area... in fact we get bread and milk every other weekend and this just so happened to be the week, so I went out early to avoid the riots. It's going to be crazy if the storm tracks just a little south and puts down 14 inches over the Nashville area, and I'll be praising baby jesus that I no longer have to commute there. I have a feeling school will be closed all week.

It is cold here, about -5 f, and the wind is strong like you mom's body odour. I have had both wood stoves going hard all day, more than I've done since the incredibly cold snap last winter, and the house is comfortable, but it's going to get chilly tonight as the stoves die out around 4 am. But it was gloriously sunny today, so we actually spent quite a bit of time outside with the snow shoes. Coming in, and warming up with hot chocolate while sitting next to a roaring wood fire feels pretty glorious after that.

-11 outside already, windchill puts it around -25. Hit -33 with the windchill last night, gusts upwards of 50mph.

I like how weather.com and wunderground show "Mostly Cloudy" on their summary for Monday, you have to click the details for the day to see Monday night is 8-12" of snow. That's really not a fucking useful summary.

Is there a good weather website that actually shows snow accumulation? It's practically impossible to keep up with the various offices/vendors I deal with around the country during snow season because the weathermen prognosticate as well as a Ouija Board and none of them show 'current on the ground' conditions as in past tense what has occurred and is still being cleared, at least that I can find.

It is indistinguishable from Hoth outside right now.
I can't give you nets. I hope what I gave you was positive.

That is out my backdoor here in Boston. Note that this is not any kind of dug-in carport or anything. Normally its a completely flat backyard and driveway with my patio and grill buried somewhere towards the back of the picture. Cleared the area around the backdoor to protect the glass and expose one of the drains into the drywell for when this mess eventually (?) melts.

You mean predicted or past?

Nearest Observations - NOHRSC - The ultimate source for snow information

NOAA is basically the only weather source you need. Everyone else is getting their info from them and most media outlets simply have variations in their forcecast in order to differentiate themselves and get your attention. The best evidence based data is presented through NOAA and anything else ends up being more about speculation.

It was fucking crazy yesterday. I went out to get the kerosene heater. Lowes had 52 in stock Sat night so I thought I'll stop by Sunday morning and grab one right?
WRONG. Store opened at 8 but I was at Meijer( who was sold out ) getting drinks, beer and cat food. Went over to Lowe's and guy was like all gone man. I was like you had 52. He said ya several pallets. All gone.
Went 2 Walmarts, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Target and all gone.

Ended up with a Mr Buddy 3000/9000 btu propane heater with about 20 1lb canisters and a hookup for my 2 20lb tanks. A solid week+ of 24 heating but if I run it in same area we are in it gives us a headache( but heats damn well.)

Anyways while at Meijer it looked like The Walking Dead in there. Tons of shelves just cleared out. Gone.

We are in 4 hours in now ~about 4 inches of snow. I figure we'll end up with roughly 12 inches which I haven't seen here since the early 80s.

Got about 8-10in on my mountain in NW AR. Was teasing my girl back in FL last night telling her our preggers donkey would be covered in icicles. Just fed her and damn donkey is honest to god covered in icicles. She looks so pitiful but is 100% not interested in letting me clean her up right now. Sent my girl a picture and have been getting all caps texts from her while shes at work. Haha I'm dying. She doesn't get the whole not all animals are cuddly pets thing. Retarded donkey is out there rolling in the snow as I type this.

Was at Walmart "getting a couple things" with my mom yesterday since we were already "in town" and the place was a madhouse. Barely below freezing with less than a week of shitty weather incoming and people arguing over loaves of fucking bread while I wander around in my flip flops with a cart of shit WE DIDN'T NEED TO GET. Snows too deep to wear my flip flops outside though which does suck. Only down to 44 in my house atm so I'm sitting here in my pjs. It's been a mild winter but cold enough to adjust since I left FL at least. I'd have put a bullet in my head to escape the misery if it was 44 inside when I left FL back in October.

My front yard, the snow is almost to the bay window ~4 feet off the ground, my drive looks like que" s

Btw Que what street? I might have designed a infiltration system(drywell) on it. My company has done ~400+ water and sewer plans in Boston the past ~4 years,

Mostly South Boston, Dorchester and Roxbury... Got one about to be built at the corner of Dorchester st(not ave) dresser and west first in Southie(also did those new buildings on Dresser last year-the city didn't know what the sewer in the street was... I had to pop the manhole to find out.

It's been unseasonably warm here. Been in the 70s! I wouldn't mind some snow in the mountains though.

It's fucking 9 degrees with 30 mph winds.
Yeah that's what I was dealing with on Saturday night and all day Sunday except it wasn't 9 degrees, it was anywhere from -10 to 0 (wind chill between -20 and -35, fun). Apparantly we're getting more of this crap on Thursday and Friday too, with more record colds looking to be broken like the ones over the weekend were.

It tickles my pickle tho when we get the days that are cold enough for my mustache to freeze up on my walk to work (not really sure why I find it so amusing tbh but I love it).
