Discovered pork rinds are carb free. My quality of life on a Keto diet just got way better! Damn was I craving me some crunchy chip like something. The few almonds I have a day weren't cutting it! And damn living in the Northwest during berry season. Local stand 30 seconds down the street with fresh blue/black/boysen/rasp berries, and all so F'ing good. We bought a half flat of boysenberries, and froze em, and now I have 3-5 of them at night after dinner to kill the sweet craving. Really enjoying things, and I feel better about this "diet" or lifestyle, or whatever, than I have about any other I've done.

2 weeks down! Onwards and upwards!

Careful man, those are really high calorie. Substantially more than just eating cheese per oz. And I'm going to guess cheese is more satiating...

Not really related but the past I checked out some keto blogs ran by fat people and one guy stood out to me for swearing up and down how awesome keto is, but he hadn't actually lost any weight in years and was eating like a quarter cup of plain butter at breakfast. Keto people get weird sometimes...

They (pork rinds) aren't substantially more calories, though they are more. 154 calories per oz for standard pork rinds vs 113 calories per ounce for cheddar cheese for instance. And the pork rinds have substantially more protein.

Protein provides satiation, fat has no effect, carbs increase hunger.

So by that logic, pork rinds > cheese in actuality.

Well first week of eating right, new meds, and exercising and I lost 4 pounds. I'm not doing keto or anything, just eating a lot of salads with chicken for meals (or brown rice, my old tried and tested diet) and more vegetables. Cut out energy drinks and late night snacks. While 4 isn't a great amount, for me it feels really good.

Been in a bad way for a long time. Doctor scared me enough that I'm gonna stick to it.

Ideally I'd like to hit 185 or 190,but I'm also going to start weight lifting so that goal will shift upwards too.
Yeah, 4 lbs in a week is a lot bro, you aren't on a game show. No need to lose 10+ lbs a week. I always tell the wife and say to myself, you didn't put on this weight in a week, you aren't going to lose it all in a week.

It's probably just water you nerds. Shut up. Cutting carbs and exercising will drop a lot of fluff weight.

P.S. Brown rice is shit, eat white rice.

They are also just more for the weight. A handful of pork rinds is like 80 calories. A handful of cheese, much more I imagine. Weight alone is deceptive.

I ain't eating a whole bag in a sitting and trying to say it's healthy, keto or not! And I actually don't like cheese that much. Could easily drop cheese entirely, and prefer most normal "cheese things" without cheese at all. Hamburgers being the one exception typically. Also discovered that unsweetened almond milk is only 1g of Carbs per cup, but the problem is that it tastes like ass on it's own, because unsweetened, and on keto, there really isn't any thing you can put it on, or make with it that would mask it. lol. Guess I could figure out a keto type protein shake and it would work out well for that.

Doing keto for a week now, lost 9 lbs, pretty impressive diet. Still getting occasional headaches and more tired at night but it's not as bad as i thought it would be.

They say that stuff passes, lasted a few weeks for me then passed. When I cheated on my daughter's birthday, I didn't get the symptoms again when I restarted.

Yeah, thankfully its not too bad. I've heard horror stories of it being as bad as the flu, but despite my eating habits for the last 20 years, the switch over has been fairly painless. I'm pretty pleased with how fast the weight is losing and more pleased that if I screw up in the future (which I don't plan to do but screw ups happen) going back to it won't be painful.
