What exactly are you doing? Just not eating for the 16 hours?

Is 16/8 in and of itself a programme? I'm doing that already but also keto, and I for sure would like to add oatmeal , apples, etc back into my diet "soon".

It’s basically you can eat responsible from noon till 8pm. Outside of that water, black coffee, plus or minus Diet Coke depending on which weight loss messiah you follow.

This is exactly it. I’m drinking just water, seltzer and black coffee. I tend to do 17 hours instead of 16. Hoping for a little extra burn. I use the free app “zero” to track everything (it has a paid portion also). Not tracking my calories yet, giving it two weeks and seeing where I end up. I don’t eat like a pig normally so I figure I won’t need to track every detail.
MyFitnessPal is just a bit too much of a hassle daily for me.

Now I want to see the rest of those slides.

For a few weeks now I've been doing 16/8. But I like most of my food earlier, so I eat from when I wake up until 3 or 4pm.

I'm wondering what the occasional full day fast would do. Thing is I REALLY like watching my local news and my CNBC in the morning with coffee/cream (can't do black) and some sort of keto breakfast. I feel so GD sluggish as hell without it, and it feel so good laying on the couch and slowly feeling that coffee and food activating my body for the day.

hmmm, maybe try some of that OMAD and my one meal be a big breakfast...

I mainly use the app just for the clock which seems silly, but it does give me incentive to push my clock longer and longer. I have a positive experience from around a week of fasting. Not quite comparable to blowing a rail up my nose, but I have quite a bit more energy and have already lost 2 lbs. Not entirely sure how my first drink on the weekend is going to go. I imagine I'll be a 2 beer queer. May have to stick to the magical plant.

Missed the point of it being used as a timer, but each their own. No doubt this thread will be another cock-jousting match in no time.

Nah I didn't, it was the shitty slides you posted that prompted me to comment. Specifically, the implication that eating food puts you in an anabolic/muscle building state. Sure, insulin is anabolic, we covered that last week - but nobody is building muscle in a calorie deficit, whilst fasting for extended periods (if anything fasting is increased muscle catabolism) and without lifting weights.

But yeah, keep believing whatever this weeks magic beans are telling you.

Due to wfh and the Rona I've pretty drastically changed my diet preferences. Losing 20lbs in the process and near my old triathlon competition weight back in university. I didn't follow any strict keto diet or anything. But I did actively avoid huge carb loads like rice and bread and ballpark calories. This took a few weeks to get used to but something with a little more fat in it is now much more filling to me than a carb heavy meal and significantly less calories. I still eat rice and bread tho. Just sparingly.

I don't eat dinner ever so its just breakfast/lunch and a snack or two of almonds or something throughout the day.

Nothing I make now clocks in at more than 450 calories. Still get plenty of variety too. But I am very fond of stir fry in general. I changed my drinking habits to only michelob ultra and whiskey straight. Which is fine for me. Now delicious microbrews are just a treat rather than the norm.

Keto/low carb people, if you like buffalo sauce then get your ass to Costco. They have Primal Kitchen buffalo sauce in bigger jars 2 for 10 bucks. It is the best keto dipping sauce I've found.

I see your Buffalo Sauce and raise you . If you're one of the untermensch who can't tolerate cilantro though I can't help you and you need to be purged.

May get a membership just for this
Given the price of Primal Kitchen stuff outside of Sam's and Costco, it would probably save you money if you eat enough.

Also, you get access to $5 rotisserie chickens that are perfect for a meat/skin dinner then throwing the carcass in a pressure cooker and making bone broth for the cost of water, seasoning, and some time.
