One thing about these robots. They don't seem to create new data points. As in.....they cannot seem to produce new behaviours and words that hasn't been programmed into them.

Every single action has a point of origin and everything derives from experiences learned over time.

I don't know if improvisation is same as changing the behaviours. The creative director said as much. Sure you can take out a few hosts from the Westworld but take out 200 the narrative gets fucked up.

Problem with dealing with non-real tech in science fiction, the tech will do whatever the writers need it to. Also, while they may have a consultant or two, I doubt any of the writers has a serious grasp on the limitations of computer programming. Probably just rely on what they've seen/read in fiction.

Just noticed something else:
In the voiceover at the beginning it's clearly Bernard questioning Dolores. But at the end of the episode, it's Ashley asking the questions (head of security).

I'm attributing that one to either artistic license at the editing table, quantum entanglement, unreliable narration, or just too much coffee.
I took it to mean that she's gone through this hundreds of times with different people asking her the same questions. I'm fairly certain that they did that on purpose.

Also, not related to you Etwynn, but it is a "revery" not a "revelry." As in, a fond memory, musing, etc. Not a party.

Just watched this last night and I'm not caught up on the thread, so I won't throw out theories I have that may have been posted. I am concerned that since the hosts can be "killed" and eventually reset, there won't be any "Oh shit, they killed Ned Stark" moments. Hopefully that isn't the case.

The show seems pretty good so far. Looking forward to the direction they take it.

Was too drunk to piece together the first episode during my first viewing. Watched it again last night and it made a lot more sense.

This show is going to rule.

The soundtrack is so good, I think I even heard some Black Hole Sun on that player piano in one scene.

Yep, that was Black Hole Sun, and they also did a rendition of Paint It Black. They hired a specific company to make the paper that auto plays the piano for those songs. It was awesome.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but why isnt the Man in Black being tracked and neutralized? He is doing all this shady shit and no one knows? Or is he cloaked by someone?
