If the man in black turns out to be a host created to what...wrestle control away from Delos, I'll be just so unimpressed. Sure it'll be a plot twist but at that point the question is will my suspension of disbelief maintain? Not likely..

I don't think this one is so likely unless we are going for the "LONGEST CON EVER"...

The dialogue from Teddy before he offed himself was amazing, but I find it very doubtful that a super computer (Delores) couldn't foresee that fucking with something that she held in high esteem, in ways that basically mind-fucked him, wouldn't bite her in the ass at some point.

It wouldn't shock me if Bernard becoming a new man is going to be so short lived that we will blink and Ford will be back in him again.

The good in today's episode was that it was again pretty linear and the flashbacks were just used to flesh out the character. In this case specifically for William/MiB. Ford's talk with Maeve was great and him fucking with William was part of his plan as he clearly states there's one more game to play.

The bad is it just seems there's too much left to wrap up for one episode and have any real conclusion. Are we going to end up feeling this whole season was basically for nothing and just waiting for S3? Maybe we'll get some answers but on the whole I don't see how this is neatly tied up at all.

Real William is not who we're watching. That's MIB William host. Real William is probably in the Forge or some shit chilling and due to him having the MOST exposure to the park and his decisions he was the first person to be bot-cloned from his scans. I'm pretty sure we're going to get a MIB meets William episode at some point. He even says "I don't belong in this world" not meaning he is meant in Westworld because that's the life he chooses, but the more literal he was created there and that's where he belongs. Obviously they never showed him experiencing love or compassion in his cowboy time so Williambot could never truly show love or compassion to his daughter and wife.

Good episode.

The show runner is the one in creative control and has overall responsibility for the plot.

There are six other executive producers on west world including Abrams, Nolan and Joy.

Nolan and Joy are frequently cited as the creators.

Abrams was also credited as EP on Last Jedi, you gonna give him full credit for the plot of that too

Maybe Screamfeeder Screamfeeder can clarify, I'm of the opinion EP credits are given out fairly freely and are not dependent on being involved in plot/story decisions

Look at how Gabriel Macht and Patrick Adams got EP credits after Suits took off, it's probably a way of giving them a pay rise in exchange for committing to further seasons

The best answer I can give you is, 'You're right, but it depends.'

I been on shows with one set EP and no others who had complete control. All others were just Producers (myself included) who have specific tasks (one is watching budget, two are on set to monitor things, one is working directly with writer for changes etc etc).

Then I've been on shows (btw I use show to mean TV or film...to clarify) where you literally had the assistant to a producer get bumped to full producer credit and then an EP credit later, simply for always showing up in the meetings and tossing out one or two ideas that made the final cut.

like i said above the scan showed "OK" but it also said something like "searching for restraining device" basically the thing that makes you blow up if you leave the park. idk if it actually scans for something else.

Well bernard has passed their scans so we know that they can be spoofed. I think they are just looking for some kind of RFID chip and the ones ford wants to pass off as real just don't have them.

in eps1 when he touched the handle to the lab it was a "dna sniffer"

what i think the neck scan is, is just a bomb scanner, so it's two different types.

it could be arguable that the dna sniffer is harder to fake, wheres the dna coming from, whereas maeve would pass the neck test.

Why? It is pretty clear the hosts are biologically printed and would require cells/DNA/all the normal biochemistry of humans (or animals) to function

she cleared the neck bomb test, but again that could easily be faked just like maeve.

what i don't get is daughter had the card, so she read the file.

she's not gonna think, "wow dad is a little bit crazy, maybe i should't push him over the edge, i mean he's already rebutted me as "real" at every turn and even left me"

btw, this mirrors s1 eps9 where he opened up the whole village to make sure they were robits.

He's delusional, paranoid, and lost in the make-believe world but he's not (or wasn't) psychopathic. William probably never realized that his wife saw the profile until he took the card from his daughter's hand. He clearly still had remorse since he was about to suicide over what he did until he got angry enough at Ford to postpone it and head to the valley first.
