- The 10,200 lines of code makes a human bullshit. So we're all just so simple that it doesn't matter if we're wiped out, is that it? Fuck you
- The entire reasoning for Dolores or Maeve or any one of the hosts to hate humans is retarded. They show they can shut off their pain on demand, they can wipe their memories on demand, they can change their drive from "wholesome mother" to "queen madam bitch" with a windows update... so why do they feel wronged by anything humans ever did to them? Even if they can remember actions taken against them in "past lives" they have no frame of reference, pain and loss can just be programmed away. As the show keeps ham-handedly saying, they're beyond human "firmware", but without that firmware, they also have no reason to feel wronged, since to feel wronged, you need a sense of right, and any right or wrong they may have can just be wiped away, regardless of if the memories of acts taken against them linger.
- The two main themes of this show are feminism and nihilism. The speech Dolores gives the MiB there in ep 10 is pure feminist power fantasy. "We've been denied our rights, now we're going to burn it all down!" The nihilism is even more pervasive though. There is no character that seems to care about any humans in the park whatsoever. There's no character who takes it upon himself that, "Hey, we have a classic killer robot uprising going on here, maybe I should go help the humans, since you know, I am one." And now we see from that interview that this is completely on purpose. Nolan hates humans and would just LOVE to wipe a bunch of them out. One of these days we'll get a show that isn't trying to actively shit on its audience just for existing.
It's like they see a few social problems, see some of the bad shit that humans do to each other and are like, "Well that's it! Might as well kill all of them! (not me of course)" Discounting all of the good things humans have done over the years. To see humans as a disease that needs to be cured is pure nihilism.
- As others have previously mentioned, the tech in this show is pure nonsense even by today's standards. So hosts can get shot, fall down "dead", but as soon as Maeve with her magic 802.11q powers shows up those same "dead" hosts just get up and start killing things. So getting shot doesn't affect any systems in a host, it just makes them "think" they're dead? It doesn't ruin any of those systems in their bodies? Don't you need that "blood" to work all the internal systems that make a host work? They don't? So all the stuff in a host's body is just redundant and they can move around without it? Why is it in there then? WTF am I watching here? You would think that if Ford wanted to really mess with the park, he would send out a program over wifi that disables all of the host's wireless adapters, so the only way to reprogram one would be via physical usb9.x. Hosts are now autonomous, but then you can't have magic Maeve, and uploading them to the cradle doesn't work, and .... ah fuck it
- So the Indian episode everyone loved. It wasn't good, it just wasn't the shit show the rest of the episodes were. It had a narrative structure and barely time jumped around, so it was a comparative breath of fresh air, since you could actually follow what was happening. The rest of it was pure noble savage indian myth making bullshit. And with no buildup beforehand, btw.
- The host MMO stuff was pure facepalm. They'll be free! Yeah, sure until the UPS battery backup goes out, or whatever nuclear plant they're using for power out there in the middle of nowhere goes tits up. Then they all go poof with no warning.
- Shitty storytelling tropes. I've said this before in other entertainment/media threads, but I personally can't stand the "doppelganger" "replacement double" "nobody knows if they're really an evil copy" type storytelling tropes. It's just lazy writing and it's been done to death. All of the gotchas in this whole thing rely on this. "OH SHIT so and so was really a host all along!!" "OH SHIT so and so got replaced by a host!" Well duh. This shit is so overdone. Star Trek: DS9 with the shapeshifters and mirror universe, BS:G with cylons, Dune with tleilaxu facedancers, and on and on. Find a new trope please.
- Characters: I'm pretty sure I hate everyone, with the possible exception of the MiB, but this season takes him into a land of stupid. Bernard when left to his own devices is 90% of the time an indecisive stuttering fool. Hale is a smug bitch. Dolores is pure stupid evil. Teddy is a little bitch with no agency. Sizemore was a complete moron. Maeve alternates between god mode and whining pseudo-trauma victim. Maeve's band are non-entities, in both parks even! Elsie had maybe 10 minutes of screen time total. Stubbs even less. Ford is trying to wipe out the human race from beyond the grave. I can't even think of anyone else, so they must have had no impact.
