I'm betting the whole "Medieval World" and "Roman World" counterparts from the old story are what the current story's board of investors are working towards.

They see the park as a money making machine and want to expand it, make more parks, etc. Given the current state of mind of Ford, it just doesn't feel like additional parks would really be something he'd actually want to do on his own, at least not yet.

Hence why the Board is so angry about the recent revelry changes affecting the behavior of the hosts. Dangerous hosts mean new parks could be a liability, which means no Christmas bonus.

No, I don't think its going that direction. AH wants some cool new narrative in the park yes. But the Board wants the Host technology for completely different purposes. Doesn't take an idiot to realize that Host tech is Promethean Fire applicable in limitless fields and thus worth $$$$$$$$$$/Power/Influence the likes of which can only be dreamed. Trouble is that nobody understands it really (other than AH) and even stealing the source code isn't enough to get it working/modify it to your purposes. The Board bitch is right. They need to find a way for AH to willingly give up the tech otherwise they risk him burning it all down with a snap of his fingers if they attack him. They don't realize that he is smarter than all of them or how far he has gone with the Host stuff.

But AH keeps all the Host tech bottled up in an amusement park for rich people. Much to the chagrin of the company who owns it. AH says that he and Arnold had a dream and whatever that dream is isn't what the Board wants.

Didn't Ford say in this past episode, that "nobody knows how it works?" i could be taking that out of context but someone definitely said those words in regards to the host AI. is it possible Ford has just been copying the same source code over and over and then tweaking it for different personalities but the real source was done by Arnold and Ford hasn't been able to break it?

Bernard says nobody knows how it works. Arnold wrote half o the code base they use. Whatever AH's knowledge level is we only know that he knows significantly more than Bernard does.

Felix says a personality takes years to develop. But somehow Ford is able to make them in his spare time and so well that they are indistinguishable from real people so much that they can replace them. He can also alter prime directives and shit with ease.

The obvious ultimate application is immortality - clone body, transfer mind, live forever.

Though I love the idea, I don't think Bernard is an incarnation of Arnold... I mean, wouldn't that imply that no one else knows what Arnold used to look like? Even if it was 30 years ago, there would have to be records of his person or something.

Okay. Well you can also use them like Replicants from fucking Blade Runner. Seriously, the shit has just a limitless of applications as actual people do.

Ford said that Arnold was effectively scrubbed from the history books and their entire partnership was also shrouded in mystery. The scenes that appear to depict Bernard interviewing Dolores are actually showing Arnold with Dolores 30 years prior. He's wearing radically different attire and the interviews are taking place in the same bunker that houses Ford's clandestine robot operation. I never put 2 and 2 together but now we know why there was an empty space in the photo Bernard was shown. They're designed not to detect things that would make them question their reality.

As other people have said, nobody knows what Arnold looks like, or even his name. Logan, who is an investor in the park, mentions how nobody knows who Ford's partner was or what happened to him.

Now that you mention it, I think you are right. I need to rewatch some of this stuff.

Bernard has been around for 10years.

I would consider him "the old guard" you know that old fucking guy you see when you come into a new job, everyone is probably a junior to him, especially when Elsie talks to Bernard about the sat link, she's like "i thought maybe you'd do it, but then i remembered you've been around forever"

I've also been thinking about the "hosts" for a while, it's basically a commandment that they "cannot hurt a guest", that it's just ingrained in them.

So what if you've been playing with fire for 10years, it don't burn, it don't hurt, it don't do shit to you.

Then all of a sudden, it comes alive and threatens you and it feels hot.

Maybe this is how those 2 dumb idiots feel when Maeve woke up and decided to BOSS shit around.

More MiB connecting with Dolores or has her in his mind/common thread is Teddy

Eps1 where Dolores talks to Teddy about the cows
That's the Judas steer. Rest will follow wherever you make him go.
How do you pick him out?
Just know these things. Same as I knew you'd be back.
You saying I'm predictable?
There's a path for everyone. Your path leads you back to me. I know things will work out the way they're meant to. Same as I know my daddy still won't be happy to see you.

Eps5 where MiB has near dead Teddy and Lawrence
You believe in fate, Lawrence?
If the bitch exists, I'd like to kick her in the teeth about now.
Don't be so glib. You'll hurt my feelings. As another old friend of mine likes to say, "There's a path for everyone." Your path leads you back to me. You ever wonder why I've kept you with me this whole journey?

***
also MiB is powerful as fuck, when Lawrence curses him out

"There's not a man in the world who'll take the tone with me you do. In a past life, perhaps."

you don't just mouth that kind of shit, unless you know you're a fucking king, also "past life", there's some merit to him being "reborn here" or whatever...

Lanx Lanx I have more issue with the trailer and Maeve ordering Felix to make more alterations for her "escape" when he can't get a Hello Birdy app to work. I know I am the minority working in tech. But when you have Felix committing code changes to production and nobody being the wiser it just kills my immersion. You can't do that shit in even the shittiest app dev studio and that's today. Not 500 years in the future with technology worth untold trillions of dollars and limitless potential.

Considering how valuable the Host tech is to both AH and the Board. There just HAS to be so many controls and failsafes in place to keep that from happening.

I called the Bernard thing when talking to my brother about episode 2. Sounded like I was making too early a leap to post it here. I should have!

I'm still holdding on to the idea that Arnold was an AI designed to help create the hosts but then something went wrong and Ford had to put him down. Bernard is just version 2.

I found it interesting that Bernard had no idea and had been acting human for quite awhile, like who did he video call or was that a false memory inserted into his consciousness? His dream about his kid seemed real. Are these fragments of a real past?

His relationship with Theresa seemed genuine until Ford would you kindly'd him, something that would inherently go against their prime directives. Can Ford do that to any host?
