finished Hitman 3 yesterday, gonna 100%/platinum the game slowly. 9/10 loved it
Dragon Quest XI S on gamepass, really enjoying a few hours a week coming up to the end i think. 9/10 old style JRPG
Rogue Squadron on PS5, not really loving it just going through the story to finish. I should like it but I get bored after every mission, no idea why. The characters all suck.

Control PS5 comes out tomorrow on PS+, been wanting to play that for a while

Started playing BG1. Left the starting area and immediately died to a wolf. I have no idea how to play CRPGs. Gonna be a wild ride.
I remember being frozen by so many options I didn't know where to start... played an hour or two and just quit.

Started recently with "Surviving the Aftermath", then realized on the next patch I had missed the "early access" mention.

It's looking to be a good post-apocalypse base building game, but it's unbalanced as hell (and currently not in the right way - easiest difficulty is completely unforgiving and requires you to have played before or your colony goes down in death spiral within an hour and you have no idea what you did wrong)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I keep going back to this game and can't get bored of it.
Detroit: Become Human. Just started this and it looks promising.
Yakuza Kiwami. I need to get back to this one. Got kind of bored with it after enjoying Yakuza 0 so much and went straight to Yakuza 7.

Noita roguelike wizard shooty game where every pixel is simulated. Great little game to play for 5-15 minutes and move on.

Outward because its got an EQ lite vibe to it.

Picked up Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 on sale at PSN yesterday so I'll be busy with those bad boys for a while.

$25 for both of those is money well spent.

Nier Automata... just finished my first playthrough, need to beat it twice more for the true ending?

The main endings are A-E and you've just gotten A. B is a 2nd playthrough as 9S, which is mostly the same as the first, but there are some differences. Endings C-E continues the story after A and B, completely new stuff. Right before the end of it you have a choice to make that gives you either C or D. After you get one of those, chapter select opens up and you can go back to that choice and get the other ending, after which you will automatically see ending E.

I jumped into a couple almost-Metroidvanias (but not quite) recently, Touhou: Luna Nights and Iconoclasts.

T:LN was okay, but don't understand the rating unless its a bunch of Touhou fans boosting the score. It was pretty linear and a little obnoxious.

Iconoclasts felt better, although it wasn't very Metroid-vania-ish either. Cartoony, but it had a pretty cool story. Some of the gameplay is fun, but some of the boss battles are gimmicky and annoying.

I'm going to see if I can find some other Metroidvanias, been into those a lot lately.

Started another Grim Dawn playthrough.

Really scratches that Diablo 2 itch.

On the bright side Haemimont is a well established studio with consistently solid games if you like the genre (Tropico 1-5, Surviving Mars) so the finished product should end up just fine.

Hit up Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps if you haven’t already. Both fantastic with some amazing art and music to boot.

haha

I gave Ori and Blind Forest a shot years ago and it was good until the tree rush stage where I just got fed up and quit. It was fun up until that point.

I've been looking at some of the more obscure and unnoticed entries, sometimes the low budget games are pretty enjoyable.

The tree escape is awesome! Man you would hate the last escape in Wisps, then, lol. That shit is rough, but the music’s amazing.

Lightning round?

Most of my game time goes to Bannerlord. patch hit, so broke mods, and I checked out a few other things. as well some general checking out others periodically.
particularly xbox gamepas/epic free games.

last epoch rogue update was great.
labryth of refrain. an unusual NIS take on dungeon crawls. lots of cutscenes, separate from the actual dungeon. grind at the end is rough. not as fun as disgaea grind. gave up.
loop hero demo, was pretty impressive.

epic free games.
my time at portia- started fun. stardew valley type game. got grindy, and the pacing is rough. gave up after a bit.
tropico 5.-same shallowness of all tropicos..
galatic civ 3- was ok. but literally just played 1 game...and promptly decided, there wasn''t much reason to play more. every game is going to play out basically the same. I feel like this is a problem with a ton of 4x games.
offworld trading co. surprisingly fun. played a bit. but also came a point, I realized every map I ended up just doing the same strategy over and over. not enough variation in tech/buildings, etc between factions. or needs of each colony. still would recommend checkingn it out, if you got it free on epic.

gamepass.
monstertrain-decent slay the spire type game. very similar in concept, and quality. differant actual mechanics.
ori and the will of the wisps- much the same as ori 1. a bit less metroidvania. about as much as expected. did finish.
for the king. meh. didnt like it at all.
crosscode. secret of evermore type rpg. mmo homage, meaning shit collectathon quests... rough game controls. gave up fairly early.
Greedfall- so much jank. wanted to like it more. cool world. a+ for effort... but, controls are weak. skillsystem is garbage. dialogues prompt out of order.. etc.. gave up after a few hours. like, when you get companions, your first discussion is basically, "do you want to fuck?", or when you talk to the native girl, you ask her "did you really think I was a native?" when, at that point, no one commented on the fact you look like a native yet. if the combat was fun, I'd probably have kept with it longer. but it wasn't.
Endless legend- a better 4x. played once. might come back to it. way more variation. each race has different units, etc. also has actual tactical combat. I think this has much better replay value. probably why I like starsector/bannerlord, but not more traditional 4x.

Grabbed a few games to try.

Endless Legend. Looks cool and really deep but just was not in the mood for something like this.

Steamquest: Hand of Gilgamech. Played for 90 minutes or so. Wasn’t bad but after playing Slay the Spire and Monster Train this just was missing something. Too easy or slow maybe, idk.

Control. Mainly got it to check out Ray Tracing since I have a 3070 now. Very pretty. Likes the game itself too, will definitely get back to it.

Heroes of Hammerwatch. I dig it. Ended up buying the DLC too. Fun game, would be pretty cool multiplayer but I’ve only done it solo.

Last Epoch. I was avoiding this for a long time due to early access but T Tide27 talked me into it. Definitely like it a lot, ARPGs are kind of my go to genre. I can space out into them for hours in end. So, currently playing this now. I wish it was release so I wasn’t going to lose all my stuff but whatever, it’s fun and good time killer I can jump in and play 10-15 minutes in between stuff at home.
