Lightning round?
Most of my game time goes to Bannerlord. patch hit, so broke mods, and I checked out a few other things. as well some general checking out others periodically.
particularly xbox gamepas/epic free games.
last epoch rogue update was great.
labryth of refrain. an unusual NIS take on dungeon crawls. lots of cutscenes, separate from the actual dungeon. grind at the end is rough. not as fun as disgaea grind. gave up.
loop hero demo, was pretty impressive.
epic free games.
my time at portia- started fun. stardew valley type game. got grindy, and the pacing is rough. gave up after a bit.
tropico 5.-same shallowness of all tropicos..
galatic civ 3- was ok. but literally just played 1 game...and promptly decided, there wasn''t much reason to play more. every game is going to play out basically the same. I feel like this is a problem with a ton of 4x games.
offworld trading co. surprisingly fun. played a bit. but also came a point, I realized every map I ended up just doing the same strategy over and over. not enough variation in tech/buildings, etc between factions. or needs of each colony. still would recommend checkingn it out, if you got it free on epic.
gamepass.
monstertrain-decent slay the spire type game. very similar in concept, and quality. differant actual mechanics.
ori and the will of the wisps- much the same as ori 1. a bit less metroidvania. about as much as expected. did finish.
for the king. meh. didnt like it at all.
crosscode. secret of evermore type rpg. mmo homage, meaning shit collectathon quests... rough game controls. gave up fairly early.
Greedfall- so much jank. wanted to like it more. cool world. a+ for effort... but, controls are weak. skillsystem is garbage. dialogues prompt out of order.. etc.. gave up after a few hours. like, when you get companions, your first discussion is basically, "do you want to fuck?", or when you talk to the native girl, you ask her "did you really think I was a native?" when, at that point, no one commented on the fact you look like a native yet. if the combat was fun, I'd probably have kept with it longer. but it wasn't.
Endless legend- a better 4x. played once. might come back to it. way more variation. each race has different units, etc. also has actual tactical combat. I think this has much better replay value. probably why I like starsector/bannerlord, but not more traditional 4x.
