The average is a lot closer to $350/sq ft though but damn... why do prices vary so wildly in that area? That's kind of ridiculous:

Highland Park Real Estate - Highland Park TX Homes For Sale | Zillow
The lots vary a lot in size, and several billionaires live here (in a town of 5000, two of them live across the corner from each other) and tons of very high net worth individuals who build pretty insane estates. Then there are your "normal" houses like mine which are still really nice but not Biltmore type crap.

That makes sense. Avon mountain here in CT is like that. Your normal wealthy area with a few insurance moguls who have built absolutely insane, sprawling manors.

I live in Alexandria now, well fake Alexandria (Fairfax County). Prices in that area of MA seem a little more. Literally still unpacking old house, but if I can get moving expenses, to include packers, it would be awesome

I got contacted out of the blue by a contracting company in MA for a job at position at Lincoln Labs. Since the wife and I just bought a house i VA and moved for a salary I put what I thought was a ridiculous salary request, 200k. Person called back and said that should be fine.

Now I have to entertain the possibility of being offered the position, which I sort of don't want to do because moving sucks. On the otherhand it is 90k more than what I make now.
Hahaha, Lincoln Labs. Thats in the burbs. You can find a house in Acton or something.

It is definitely the burbs and not part of Boston proper at all.

It's like 30 minutes away from Boston.

I'm not familiar with Boston traffic patterns but usually that means you could actually live closer to the city and since you'd be commuting the opposite way of pretty much all the traffic your wife could get what she wants without making your commute terrible.

The fuck is Acton? My wife will complain every waking moment far out in the burbs
Town about 40 minutes outside of Boston... I grew up there. (NOTE:Lincoln Labs is in Lexington (the faaaaaar side of Lexington)... About 20-25 minutes outside of Boston)
Unless your wife makes decent money you won't find anything on the Salary you will be getting and maintain the lifestyle you currently have unless you want to rent at ~3k+/month

I went to High School next to it. Girls who were studying daycare (or whatever the fuck the trade was called) actually took care of kids for employees of it.

Vinen said in another post about how he lives in Arlington, MA. Talks about Lincoln Labs like it's in the sticks. It's in Lexington, right?

Google Maps says Lincoln Labs is like 7 miles from the center of Arlington, MA. Arlington and Lexington literally border each other.
